Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme. Your unfunny, forced memes also fall under this rule.
Do not treat this comm like your personal therapist. Threads about nonfictional suicide, self injury, rape, and abuse will be deleted. There are better resources out there for you.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

I get what they were going for, but it's bad to the point I wish I could just turn it off and go at this like a "regular" Zelda game... if enough people ask for it do you think they might patch that in?

Papyrus is a reliable, indiscriminate tagger who is basically a one person fun factory.

The Lars is pretty quick and can be pretty fun if you're into negative CR.

Strange also seems very open and reliable, from my experience and also seeing them tag around with others, and his character is quirky good fun.

The Sora is open and seems fun, but I haven't tagged with them so I don't know if they're fast! Or fun, honestly. I should probably read more of their threads through to completion, but I haven't gotten around to it yet.

I don't really know a lot of the other characters too well yet in terms of that kind of stuff, I guess.

Idk it seems like mostly everyone is open to new players!

I feel like these things could apply to me, and from me personally, I'm sorry! sometimes, I get overwhelmed by events and fall behind in old threads... so making new CR can be intimidating when it feels like heaping more threads onto the pile, but of course I interact with my pre-existing CR if the characters run into each other or etc. it's a tricky balance for me to strike, but I'm working on it! I'm thinking for the next event I might actually bar most of my pre-exsting CR to get around this issue, in fact

I guess Steven got shot during the matrix which was pretty dramatic, but I didn't think it was like..... an event centered around Steven, or anything. To be fair, I didn't participate in the matrix event, because I thought it was stupid. But I don't remember a lot of Steven talk on my timeline.

And Sans is playing a major role in the hell/vampire event, but so are other supervisors, and previous to the attack, he was sort of innocuously in motion in the background.

So like... yeah, examples please? Because I'm agreeing with one of the anons above that it kind of sounds more like you're mad she's involving her characters in a capacity as significant as other players. I'm not gonna deny that Quix has an annoyingly lofty ego, but it's felt pretty reigned in through this game.

me! i took a couple days off work following its release to dedicate time to playing. I'm going in with absolutely zero expectations except for the hope that I can romance a salarian. If Bioware delivers on that I will have nothing bad to say about this game, tbh.

Mangagamer's got three announcements at Anime Boston. One is from from a new partner. I expect a nukige and hardcopies.

I'd honestly be fine with a nukige if it was one I was interested in.

He's given dialogue choices you can pick, but so far he doesn't speak beyond that. And he doesn't say them out loud.

His choices are often snarky, it's fun. Link is a bit of an ass.

Re: Commercial Airline Employee

(Anonymous) 2017-03-12 07:39 am (UTC)(link)
Not being a raging asshole is basically Rule #1, but that goes for any person on the customer side of the counter, really. Major things you can do to make our lives--and consequently your own travel experiences--much more streamlined and less painful: CHECK IN ONLINE AND PRINT YOUR BOARDING PASS. For crying out loud, nobody wants to wait in a line of 200 people at the check-in counter only to wait in another line of the same 200 people to get through security. If you check in online, you can save everyone at least one step. Even if you don't have a printer, a lot of airlines have apps you can put on your phone so you can just show a barcode at security. Saves you time, saves us time. Hand in hand with this, if you're able to curb-check your bags, do it. Sometimes you can't--international flights make this complicated, sometimes you need visas, etc, and if you're connecting to a different airline the curbside baggage guys can't always tag the bag to your final destination. But if you're traveling domestically on pretty much any major airline (and even most teeny low-cost airlines), check your bags curbside, or use the self-check-in kiosk to tag the bags yourself. Then you can just hand them off and be on your way, and the ticket agents can focus on the passengers who have issues that have to be handled in-person, like botched fares, missed flights, or day changes.

Once you're through security, the hardest part is mostly over, on a good day. Find your gate either printed on your boarding pass or on the monitors and head that way. This is Rule #2: Read The Departure Monitors, Listen To Announcements, Don't Panic. If it's more than three hours before your flight or so, it may not be listed on the monitors yet, and in that case, don't ask an agent who is boarding a flight what gate you need to go to. We don't know. If it isn't posted on the monitors, a permanent gate probably hasn't been assigned yet. Be patient, and when a gate is assigned, it'll show up, I promise. If the monitors say your flight is delayed, don't panic. Go to your gate, have a seat, and someone will usually make fairly regular announcements to keep you informed and let you know if you need to take any action. If you're making a connecting flight you will miss now that the flight is delayed, don't panic. We probably already know and are probably already working on that. You may have to go to the customer service desk, which means you may have to wait in line, but the agent at the gate's first priority is to get that plane out as quickly as possible, and that means they just don't have time to sift through all the other available flights to find just the right one for you. That's what the service desk is for, please utilize them, and don't get pissy with them. They know it sucks to be delayed and miss your connecting flight, and they're doing their best to find you a workable solution. Trust me, none of us want you to be stuck in the airport all night shrieking at us, we're doing everything we can to get you to where you need to be and not in front of us.

If your flight is canceled, don't panic. We know the flight is canceled, we know the names and destinations of every single person on it, and we know we need to find another way to get you where you're going. Go to the service desk, please be patient, and don't be pissy. The agent at the gate is going to be assigned to another flight at another gate, and unless they make an announcement that they're doing rebookings there at that gate, they won't have time to help you. If the gate agent packs up swiftly and makes a quick exeunt stage left, it isn't because they're trying to duck out of helping you, it's because they just got assigned to meet an inbound flight that is landing as we speak and they have to get all the way to the other side of the terminal to meet it in approximately three minutes. The service desk is your friend, those agents are there to help you, and even if there's a long line, every single person is going to get helped, and is going to get to where they need to go, even if it's a little later than expected.

I don't mean for this to sound patronizing, but people get very panicky when things don't go as planned, and it makes our jobs ten times harder when passengers are freaking out and yelling and swearing and demanding to speak to a manager. We can't control the weather, and we don't go out and break the planes on purpose. We want you to get to where you're going, we really do, and it often seems like disserviced passengers think they're being targeted. I'm sure you've seen this phenomenon in action if you travel very often at all.

Rule #3: Hope for the Best, Plan for the Worst. Delays happen. Cancellations happen. Bad weather happens. Most of the time, you'll just laugh and feel silly you expected something to go wrong, but if something does go wrong, you'll be much happier than everyone who didn't plan ahead. Most airlines have good on-time stats, but one cold front in the midwest that you didn't even know was there could screw up everything for everyone. It could be sunny and 75 where you are, but if there's lightning and hail in Chicago, your flight may be delayed or canceled if that's where your aircraft is. Don't book the very last flight that could possibly get you to where you're going by the time you need to get there. Don't put your important papers or medication in your checked luggage. Keep deodorant, dental hygiene items, and a spare pare of underwear and socks in your carry-on bag, it may just save your life. Or the life of the person you who has to sit next to you for eight hours after being stuck in the airport for 12. If you are traveling with kids, bring chargers or extra batteries for electronics and keep them in your carry-on. Bring some trail mix or granola bars, especially if it's a night flight, because the shops and restaurants won't usually stay open late just because you're delayed. It's easy to make a few small adjustments to how you pack your bags, to shift a few things around and make a little extra room in your backpack, to find a space for that extra battery and your toothbrush, and you'll be really glad you did if the weather decides to throw a tantrum or your aircraft needs unexpected maintenance.

Last but not least, to go with Rule #1, if you're nice to your airline employee, chances are you'll walk away a lot happier and a lot less inconvenienced than the asshole who pounds on the counters and screams about paying our salaries. Traveling is stressful even when everything goes right, and it's no less stressful for us when things don't. If you're understanding and patient with us, we're going to go the extra mile to try and get you a good seat, make sure you get your special meal request, and make doubly sure your bags have been rerouted to meet you there. We might not be able to break all the rules, but we're a lot more inclined to bend them for the people who are kind and roll with things as they happen.

M/F! A brother and sister have always been close, and then one night one of them gets curious while the other is sleeping. They wake up, are really into it, and they go at it.
