personally, I'm not gonna try mostly because my character would be absolutely AWFUL with any sort of responsibility. I can't wait to see who gives it a go, though!

I wasn't looking for asspats, I was asking around if other people (who befriended known wankers without knowing that they were wankers) were still on good terms with them because the wankers had matured & stopped getting into fights with people all the time over stuff.

I literally did not know that they were known wankers until 5 years into the friendship, when they brought up wank about one of our mutual friends.

I saw their name mentioned on wankgate like one time 2 years ago but the way they were described seemed like they had a long history of wank I didn't know about, since they always seemed pretty chill & mature to me.

I figured it was just an exaggeration & that it was just wankgate being wankgate until they started up the discourse & I was starting to rethink our whole friendship thing & how there were a bunch of red flags that I shouldn't have befriended them or their friend circle in the first place.

The wank in question was a long pastebin. They said that they agreed with some of it, but that it wasn't very nice so I got curious and looked it up, only to find both people namedropped on wankgate.

Played there for a while. It's not a bad game, but I left because I found that if you're not part of a larger cast or get stuck with lazy/boring shipmates, it's really hard to get any lasting CR. The nature of having multiple ships is that it's difficult to hang out with anybody who isn't on YOUR ship, and a lot of the players were just lazy and didn't want to go to the effort of having their character meet up.

you top level with a la character at shippy/smut meme, and someone replies with a character played by someone related to the actor that plays yours. what do you do?

depends on how many fucks you give. normally, i keep that ic/ooc line drawn pretty tightly, but in this case, because of the la aspect and actual rl relations, i could see that being a bit harder. maybe just reply back with 'sorry, but i'm having a problem seeing past these two being related irl'.

if someone gets salty over that, too fucking bad for them.

Oh. I always thought that wankgate was filled with more ex-rpers while rpanons had more active rpers.

no, actually, there are likely more ex rpers in rpa than wg. i've seen more people admit to being ex rpers in here, anyway.

either way, ayrt is right. there's enough crossover that asking in both comms is pointless. not that there aren't some people that are in one and not the other, but next time? maybe stick to rpa, since it's less likely to blow up in your face.
