SA to make this more relevant to your post that I forgot to mention. I don't get why so many people say they "cant write women"... you ARE a woman. 99% of the time. I don't get why people don't just say they enjoy writing men more for male-on-male smut purposes. Are we supposed to feel guilty over preferences? Cuz I don't, fuck that shame lol.

personally, i think the "there are no well-written female characters" excuse is bullshit, especially since the male characters people most commonly app are just shallow pretty boys.

but when it comes to sex games, a lot of people just don't feel comfortable writing smut involving women. there are a lot of reasons for this (there are no agreed-upon euphemisms for female genitalia like there are for male genitalia; most players are female and writing smut about women hits too close to home for some of them; most people are more comfortable exploring dark or extreme kinks with male characters; a lot of players are straight women who only curr about dicks). but sex games have their own unique challenges when it comes to attracting female characters.

the atmosphere: nice but hampered by bad habits.

the playerbase is mixed. some players are there for their friends and you'll never see them with an open post/top-level. a good chunk don't go near intros and getting tags in the intro log is like pulling teeth. otoh, people tag each other regardless of medium and are open to plotting for events. it's a slow game: most players tag once every few days, some daily. there are thread droppers and squatters who stay in the game thanks to the check-in ac, but the more active players backtag forever.

biggest downside is that the vast majority of players write top-levels with virtually no hooks. there are characters i want to tag but can't because there's nothing for mine to react to. you have to plot to get the most meaningful threads.

if you're genuinely interested in the setting and don't mind slow taggers, the pines is an acceptable choice. mod team and their enablers aside, i've been enjoying the game at my own pace. but like above anon said, i doubt the game will last.

I don't use the stater armor, I have the Champion's tunic along with some of the basic Hylian stuff from the store and it still doesn't prevent me from being one-hit by Moblins and Lazalfos and even Bokoblins with certain weapons at 3 hearts.

so yes, I guss eating heart food and defense food helps, but only as long as the food in my imventory lasts, I'll run out eventually, I won't be able to keep 100 percent uptime on the buffs anymore, and I'll die eventually.

And the thing is I have to keep the buffs up even when I'm not fighting just to prevent myself from being randomly one-shot by something that aggroed me as I tried to pass by.

And always keepng the buffs active 100 percent of the time as long is you're not in a town causes you to run of out that buff food very quickly.

it's not as simple as you make it out to be.

shaming people about preferring m/m doesn't actually help though

it would be nice if people who mostly want to play m/m were open about their preferences, but no one is going to admit it if people who mostly play m/m get shamed for being "yaoibrats."

also, with regards to lagunbiru, there's a google doc where everyone lists the type of smut they're willing to play, and almost every single character in the game is listed as ota. i didn't see a single person who was m/m only.
