I'd like to play some F/F with a woman seducing a nun. Basically a haughty, libertine woman decides she wants to bed a nun and sets forth to turn her sacrilegious wet dreams into reality.

It's a pretty basic idea, but I'd be happy to further discuss specifics and flesh things out! I'd prefer it not to be dubcon or noncon, and would like focus on corruption of purity and innocence from the woman's end. I'm wanting to play the one seducing the nun. Medium pref is animanga and vidya.

Personally, I'd really like to see a game where characters are forced to acknowledge very early on that there is absolutely no way they can go back home.

Whether it's "your home worlds have been destroyed!" or "you're a clone!" or whatever, I'm heartily sick of playing out characters fixating on The Jamjar Question of how to get out and go home to do (whatever their in-canon goal might have been.) Jamjar elements like allowing people to drop and come back with memories, canon updates, &c tend to reinforce a fixation on characters "solving" the jamjar and going home unless there's a really good in-world explanation for them.

I will not deny that!

I'd like to know what even qualifies as mainstream if you think stuff like Gargoyles, Animorphs and Xena are "obscure".

I'm looking for someone who plays Will who would be willing to play in a fairly specific AU that has urban fantasy elements. I'm planning fic for it, but that doesn't mean that I want to RP fic. More the opposite in that I want to follow RP wherever it wanders to see if it sparks some writing ideas.

I've been erratic in RP since winter, but now that we're heading into spring, I'm coming out of creative hibernation and would really like to get something fairly regular going. PM me here if you're interested and I can point you to more specifics on the AU idea.

Nor did I pick up on the fact that you meant "mainstream for DW" as opposed to "mainstream for the wider internet/world". Sorry about the miscommunication.

Having said that and then thought about it, I really don't get out into the main RP community all that much, so I probably don't know what is and isn't obscure around here all that well. All I know is what turns up on D_P and my plurk list does (and, conversely, doesn't) make noise over.

I actually used to play in one based off White Wolf's stuff and yeah, the system was made to work with groups as small as like 10-20 and upwards of hundreds. When you had really massive groups, it did tend to be a lot more like how DWRP is run where players get a setting and are left to their own devices unless they needed something. They actually are similar enough that it was pretty easy for a former LARPer like myself to adjust to DWRP's style. I actually joined DWRP because my LARP group disbanded and I needed something to fill the time.

I love Misfits so much, even the later seasons. It's a show I'll never stop missing now that it's over.

i really wouldn't call animorphs obscure. everyone i know who read books when they were younger knows what it's about even if they haven't read it. and even as someone younger than 20 and thus not really cognizant of media during the late 90s, i feel like xena and hidden temple are... also pretty well known. like, if i mentioned them the majority of people would know what i'm talking about.

so uh, maybe try again on the obscure front?

tbh i got the impression that more people were dropping over the poll than the actual cap. while they may have had the best of intentions by listing the endgame option, their reasoning was poorly communicated, and it only made things far worse for them in the end.

basically you're saying that collecting hearts is only for babies, but have not yet come to the realization that you also are a baby

I'd love to see OCs accepted, if you decide that's something you're open to. I wanna throw my muse into a space game, but none of the current ones are suitable for various reasons.

I'm in agreement with the anon above me that I'm tired of characters trying to solve the jamjar. I've been in dwrp for friggin years, man, I'm tired of my muses all having to react to the exact same situation of "oh no you're stuck and can't go home, but MAYBE...". I think characters having to accept their predicament would encourage them to move forward and focus on building whatever new life they can, rather than working toward something that we as players know won't happen lest we drop our characters or the game close.

perhaps my biggest sticking point in most games is having enough to do and explore on my own. free mobility and setting devices players can use to inspire their own character-arcs or player plots is a great way to ensure players don't become bored. look at games like ryslig and cdc: despite these games' respective problems, there was a LOT for characters to go off and do on their own during periods when plot wasn't going down. plot can help give your game the direction to keep moving forward and avoid toppling into stagnant SoL hell, but players shouldn't feel their characters are being railroaded with little scope to innovate on their own.

there's, like, five 'children' characters left though anon

sasuke is one, heero i think?, three of them are voltron. the rest are 18+

relaxed atmosphere with a good mix of serious and comical, pace depends on who you're tagging but i'd say it's about medium-paced overall.
