tbh the changes don't bother me. i was there for the original. i already experienced that. if i wanted an exact carbon copy of that experience again, i'd just go re-read/play/watch the original canon

if they weren't intending to do a badly informed hollywood'ized "copy", they would have changed the names. the fact they still want to do the Light and L rivalry thing is kind of proof you're going to get the same story, just shittier.

yes, correct? it's the same basic story to some degree, it's just a matter of thinking of it as an au version. and some of us are okay with that, because like i said, the original canon is still there. i could always go back and read it again if i wanted that exact experience again. i probably should, actually, because now it would definitely have reliable translations lol

point is though, it's literally no different than any other adaptation ever

Hey nonnies! I'm looking for a game to toss Logan into! Currently I'm test driving him at Little Hades and his Days!version at Pathema, but I'm still shopping around to give this wolverine a semi-forever home.

What I'm after:

• Low/Med AC
• Med pace (I'm busy most weekends and don't want to miss stuff if I don't check the comm)
• Plot intensive/overarching plot
• Characters can affect the setting (no all-powerful, untouchable NPCs)
• Backtag friendly
• Any genre p much, AU-friendly
• Smut's fine, just gimme a plot so he's not bored af and drinking the game dry pls

That's pretty much it? He's adaptable as all get out and functions well as a lcw or with castmates so I'm up for any suggestions!

I watched the whole thing simply because I ran out of other trash to put on Netflix.

There is some stuff towards the end to do with the Hand that seems potentially important. I don't really think that the series gets better towards the end per se, but the last like 3-4 episodes are probably the best out of a really poorly written, poorly acted lot.

Basically you start to find out that the Hand is less singular than it had at first seemed and you end up with a lot of ambiguity around who can and can't be trusted. Spoilers:

Colleen, it turns out, is Hand and her dojo is really just a recruiting ground for a cult-like Hand faction led by her sensei, Bakuto. Where at first it seems that Madame Gao was in charge of the Hand, in the end it's more like a power struggle between Gao and Bakuto, each of whom wants their faction to be playing puppet master. Which of course means that both Gao and Bakuto want to convince Danny that they're the lesser evil and he should ally with them. And of course he makes a lot of clueless constipated faces like the clueless constipated dudebro that he is. That bit's not really a spoiler.

Claire is also more and more involved as the series goes on, so if you're interested in her as a character then it's worth watching for that.

Whether any of that stuff is going to actually be important for The Defenders I have no idea, but if the Hand plays a part in it then it certainly could be.

tbf the ocean on ww wasn't that bad until near the end of the game, and iirc they fixed it so it was less annoying in the ds remake

sailing was more fun than trying to climb and constantly running out of stamina and then it starts to rain and then I have to wait for the game to decide I can play again before I can start climbing again. And then when you finally climb up to where you wanted to go, you get one hit and thrown back to your last save and need to climb that shit again and I could go on.

What are the most antagonist-friendly games out there nowadays, guys?

Seriously, everyone should play Ghost Trick. It's one of those works where everything just comes together perfectly into the most tightly-plotted, constantly surprising and exciting experience.

"you can get by without ever increasing your hearts if you learn the timing for backflipping/sidestepping/shield parrying and make use of stealth and items as needed. you don't need to "work on" anything to not die immediately in fights, you just need to approach things carefully." sure, maybe in the same way in dark souls you CAN kill the Black Knight the first time you go through Undead Burg if you just git gud enough. But until you do the required amount of gettin gud you'll be one shot every time.

I am curious as to why you aren't bothering with hearts. Not to be rude but are you doing Shrines and investing in stamina or not doing shrines?

Shrines are worth doing since you can often get some stronger gear in them and when you complete them they become fast travel waypoints.

Stamina shortages can be resolved by cooking. There are cheap recipes that boost stamina and you can eat while climbing.

I actually just want to play a new Zelda game, but too bad Nintendo pulled another Star Fox Zero and tried to reinvent the wheel yet again.

Except this time they honestly listened to their detractors complaining their games are "too easy" and decided to chase the stupid hard video game trend thing that in fucking vogue right now. Which is funny, when you consider the last time there was a frustratingly difficult Zelda game (Zelda 2) people fucking hated it. They sure as shit weren't giving it 10/10s Which is hillarious because Zelda 2 was actually more fair than BoTW because you didn't get one shot by everything. Remember when a game could be challenging without being hyper-lethal and having zero margin for error? Dark Souls changed all of that, didn't it.

"use the tools you are given and git gud" yeah this game is nothing like Dark Souls, suuuuuuuure.

laughing my ass off that so many of their solid, reliable players dropped off but they still have most of their casts with kids.

The only reason an age limited game would have an unusual amount of emotional infants would be if asshurt kid players decided to flood the game because muh freedoms.

Otherwise there wouldn't be any more vampire lolis or Matsunos than any other game in that particular genre.
