Mine got pissy when I did and I told her to suck it up. She took forever to get back to me with tags and hardly showed any enthusiasm for our threads so I went ahead and started tagging someone who actually tagged me back. The amount of fun I was having actually being able to finish a thread was so worth it.

if you and another roleplayer were avoiding each other on neutral terms and you were both going to join the same game, would you feel obligated to let the mods know about the situation?

or if you're a mod, what would you prefer in this situation?

deets for my situation: i don't want to rp with them or talk to them unless it's unavoidable or just the occasional thread. i won't flip out and cry STALKER!!!!!!!! if they tag me on bakerstreet not realizing it's me, send me a pp to ask me something, or occasionally want to chat, but they just don't seem like someone i would want in my life ooc. we've never had an official falling out, i just sent them a simple pm saying "hey, i'm not interested in rping with you and, since you asked nicely, here's why." they do have a wank history but i don't consider them a "threat" to me.

their identity is nobody's business but mine, theirs, and potentially the mods' so don't ask/guess who it is.

as a mod, no. if you're on civil terms and you're not wanking on each other or causing trouble for each other and have no reason to think anything might start, going to the mods is premature. if you're doing it to be like "hey please don't assign our characters housing or events together" that's cool. but if it's just like "we're ignoring each other" we don't need to know.

speaking from the mod perspective: if you're castmates, or if the game has plots that use rng to group people together you should probably let the mod know

the former just so any complaints about being ooc for character a avoiding b can be neutralized (ooc comfort always trumps ic) and the latter to avoid any awkward groupings in plots

you don't have to explain any particulars for what's between you two, just give a heads up saying you and that player have agreed to avoid each other ingame for personal reasons

personally i loved it, but there are some valid criticisms of it

firstly, the show is hyper focused on the central two characters, the rest get screentime, but not really any development, and their personalities are mostly there for gags. they're still likeable, just not very deep or rounded out unless they get a focus episode (but only one episode, usually, which in a short run series, is kinda understandable)

second, and people have widely differing opinions on this, but the central pairing of the show is Highly Controversial, and not for anything racy, but because some people think it's boring, others think it's realistic, some thing it's poorly developed, others think it evolves pretty naturally. the best approach is to completely disregard what anyone else things about it, positive or negative, and approach it neutrally, and form your own opinion


the animation in the skating scenes is great, the costumes designs are great, actual pro ice skaters fucking love it idk if that's worth anything or not, and it's a relatively short series, so you don't lose much by giving it a try.
