i only watched half of angel beats, but i really like the idea of applying that concept to a small, short-term game. i'd def be interested in this.

what are some games that require minimal apps?

I know this is a longshot, but I have this Galra rebel with only 1.5 canon facial expressions, I'm super keen to play out some Galra stuff either circa deep undercover or Blade of Marmora stuff or whatever, I really don't care.

I'd especially love to play off a Thace or Kolivan, but I'd be just as happy playing against other Galra on Zarkon's side of the fence, or an Antok if someone had a bunch of headcanon they wanted to hash out with him. Hell, I'd probably take Galra OCs if anyone has them.

Just give me fellow racemates.

god, i get this so much. the if it's not visible, it's not a handicap thing bothers me so much. i have extreme exhaustion, lots of pain. My doctors don't know what's wrong so they're doing tests and i can't even walk the mall without coming home and being in bed for the next three days. i don't 'get to' complain, either, because it's not like i'm missing a limb and i'm not a senior citizen.

it's a huge struggle but because i don't have a diagnosis, i can't tell people who ask anything except i'm sick. i try and laugh and have fun the best i can and then people are like 'are you sure you're sick? or are you just malingering?'

For anyone who plays it: how is Duel Links?

Is it fun even if you don't spend any money, or is it pretty much pay-to-win?

Mod was sick and then out of the country. Definitely needs another mod so things like apps are pushed off to god knows when.

i actually have a relative with invisible disabilities himself. one of his organs failed and he got a transplant so he'll depend on anti-rejection meds for the rest of his life, he has severe arthritis that he needs morphine and other meds for (and he gets "shot" treatments that kill(?) his nerves so he doesn't feel as much pain), he has eye problems like random blindness, general fatigue and insomnia, etc. he's dealt with these problems for less than 10 years.

i also have another relative who dealt with brain damage at birth (presumably caused by a doctor's mistake since i know my family filed a lawsuit). he's high-functioning enough to take care of himself and his kids but he has bad epilepsy and he's not "smart" enough to do a lot of jobs, i think most of his job experience consists of "simple" jobs like janitorial work because i know he struggles with basic math sometimes. idk if he has any other health problems because i honestly don't talk to him much. and obviously, he's dealt with these issues all of his life.

...but both of them and other relatives act like i couldn't possibly be disabled! sure, both of them might be in their 40's and i'm in my mid 20's, but why the fucking hypocrisy? they act like, oh, i'm still young, there couldn't possibly be anything wrong with me!

if you want a shoulder to cry on, i'm here for you, anon. (or any other anons that want to cry about disability stuff, fibromyalgia/chronic pain especially.) my sock is hygienicallychallenged.

as someone who plays male characters regularly and often tries to get cr with female characters, i've noticed that it's incredibly hard to get tags from them. for background's sake, i play men in the upper 20s to 40s age bracket and the female characters i tend to look for cr from are in the same age range.

if i don't immediately jump into a ship, even if i do think it'd be neat to ship it and have expressed interest in building the ship, the other player loses interest. it's so frustrating. i play dudes. i want to play m/f. but i want to stay ic with guys who wouldn't immediately jump into bed.

not all female character players do this and plenty of m/m players do it too. but it's so frustrating to hear female character players complain that nobody waits to ship with them or tag them when some of us do, we just don't want to rush the ship and because of that, they drop us.

maskormenace! there's a new network post or open log daily at least, monthly events plus the intro log, plenty of boomerang taggers who will slam out an ac-length thread with you in a day and keep going, big game with multiple cities, and every medium from kdrama to anime to comic books to prestige la tv to kids shows to video games to weird ass obscure characters, and you get assigned a job and housemates so there is something to interact with right away.

Okay, so, here's the main problem I have.

Despite the fact that Angel Beats was a 13 episode series it took place over a great deal of time. Iwasawa poofed in episode 3, but she'd been in the afterlife for several months and her moment of peace (singing her song) was actually the culmination of a mostly off screen character arc (depicted in spin-off materials) in which she found this new world, started a band like she always wanted to, made friends, and then sang her song. So it's not just a moment of peace, it's a moment of peace that takes care of some of the unresolved issues from their past lives.

This, of course, can vary based off of how closely you want to play it to canon, but I don't see how you can really adapt it to something close to a murder game schedule because of the nature of the canon you're trying to adapt. Murder games work because there's a murder and a tight schedule constantly pushing the game forward: someone's killed, there's an investigation, a trial, an execution, and then dealing with the fallout of that. Wash, rinse, repeat.

Angel Beats, on the other hand, lends itself to lengthier character arcs before the culmination and the disappearance. I mean, it's specifically set in a school because if everything worked the way it was supposed to it would be a slice of life series in which dead ghosts drift in, enjoy an ideal high school life, have a moment of peace, and reincarnate.

I think it's definitely doable as a short run game but you'd be looking at a longer amount of time than a murder game and you'd probably need to come up with some kind of antagonistic force (like the shadows) to drive things along because, by default, Angel Beats would be a slice of life high school series.
