if you aren't aware of it, go to google images and there should be a "camera" icon in the textbox. click it and you can search by image. you might be able to find the same or similar images even if it's cropped or slightly edited.

tineye is a good resource too but i don't remember if it's tineye.com or something else.

it's not guaranteed to work every time though, like if google bots have never found any sites with the original image.

if you suspect something is from pixiv, there's a site called sauce nao, i think it's called? too lazy to look it up.

Basically this. For me, it becomes hard to just see a good character voice knowing that the playing is basically like "I know this thing, but I'm going to do something completely different" when it comes to HC for gender identity stuff. Makes me uncomfortable as hell.

A would proceed to change absolutely nothing about his life, except he'd do it as a team of two and the clones would communicate almost entirely via eyebrows. B would have an Extremely Dramatic Existential Crisis until plot magic managed to kill one of him. A would be really tempted to shoot both versions of B but eventually let them figure it out.

OC player here, and I admit that one of my least favorite characters to play off of is the "obnoxious genius kid" type. I avoid canon ones already, and there are so many of them.

attracting a new demographic in an easy way (make the characters look more appealing to most nonfeminst women) is the easiest way of doing that. You can literally see them doing it again right now with the "Softer and prettier" tumblr like style in some of the major comics and the weirdly increased aspect of Tumblr based Social Justice topics.

but okay, asexual as an inherent trait isn't accurate to classic jughead. still, these seem so few and far between (and apparently unpopular with readers) that i can see why i forgot about them (or even realized they were a thing in january's case)

i think it speaks more to jughead having issues regarding emotional attachment problems or bonding too closely. you could look at it as 'he LOVES' instead of just someone who has infatuations and flings. so when he 'broke up' with joani or was taken away from her, he was still pining for her and his heart was already taken.

archie and reggie are players. they've always played the field and while archie might come back to betty/veronica, he clearly doesn't love either one of them if he could never just grow a pair and settle on one. he loves GIRLS, not one specific girl. jughead just found his one and only early on and had no interest in others and cutting himself off from it seemed more logical than leaving himself open to being hurt again.

(which is one way to look at it other than 'pure asexual jughead')

a few japanese weren't comfortable with it either. you have to understand that japan has different perspectives on race than we do, but japanese-americans were still by and large not happy with the choice.

ultimately, though, masamune shirow himself has said he never imagined her as purely japanese, and modeled her after the pulp icons of the cyberpunk genre that came prior to it.

still, scarjo saying "it's not about race, it's about feminism" when it still could have been feminist without her reads as tone-deaf, the director said some pretty stupid things too, which doesn't give me a lot of faith it'll actually be good, regardless of any race issues.

dude women weren't even considered a viable market for mainstream, non-digest comics to appeal to until the 90s at earliest.

this isn't a reach at all, it's based on years and years of market studies, interviews, and other research from tons of people. the muscles were about power fantasy. they were never about attracting women. the "men were just as objectified as women in comics!" argument was invented to shut down criticism of how women were portrayed in comic art, it has no basis in reality.
