i'm getting a new desktop computer that's on sale for 500$ from best buy. i know it's not the weekend, but i just have enough and the sale's over on the 16th. plus i get paid next week, so i should be able to make what i have left over last until then.

comes with a new mouse and kb, which is great, since i've had this kb for so long, all the letters are rubbed off, and the stupid mouse squeaks. really. squeak squeak every time i use the left button.

i wrote an app for one character and reserved and gathered their samples and then changed my mind and apped their canonmate, though i hadn't posted the app yet. best decision i've made. not only do i love playing my character, someone great picked up the one i didn't and now i get to have threads with them too.

Unlike the other two anons so far, I do have a set "Commander" character for guild stuff since we decided to tackle our in-house rp from a PC perspective from day 1. I... also completely coincidentally picked the best/worst story paths for it too (sylvari mesmer, "where life goes" for Malyck, order of whispers for Demmi and Tybalt, greatest fear was the "death of a friend" one for Tonn iirc) which has been a bit of a ride tbh

But that said, we keep all of our Commander-verse stuff inside the circle. Any general rp, I strip off the "Commander" bits and use an alternate backstory, because like hell do I want to be that one douche who presses their story choices on others. Nobody wants that, man. For similar reasons, I don't think the commander would be appable - the GW2 PC is way more fluid then, say, a Bioware PC and it wouldn't be fair to anyone else in the game.

(Personality wise, I took the idea of a picturesq storybook hero and ran with it. Naive little salad who genuinely wants to Help People, in contrast with a friend's character who's incredibly bitter. HoT was a trainwreck in some delightfully fun ways. Overall, for me, it's fun to look at the story and work out what kind of character might make those decisions and extrapolate from there. It's only for that one character, though.)

Maketh Tua has to be my favorite character so far in this game. Between that character and Curufin. I like them both.

I also adore our new Prompto and our new Gladiolus. They're fantastic~

I also like Henry and Will. There's a few others I also adore in the form of our Noctis and our Lunafreya. I also really do like the Undertale Cast in this game and our lone hedgehog, Shadow.

The OCs are all fantastic~ I really...like what I see in this game. It makes me so happy. It's an honor to play with all of you.

I suppose when I wrote my comment I had be imagining a game that did accept MMO OCs and didn't really think about the possibility of app the Commander as the Commander, or app your Commander but they can't be THE commander, and I actually think in some ways that's a lot more reasonable than what I'd been imagining. I think in a lot of ways it's just easier on all involved if the Commander is some entity out in the world that everyone has a shared sense of but never speaks about in personal specifics and if you can't app your Commander as a stand alone character then... They might not really be "your" Commander, if that makes sense.
