Rundown: rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme. Your unfunny, forced memes also fall under this rule.
Do not treat this comm like your personal therapist. Threads about nonfictional suicide, self injury, rape, and abuse will be deleted. There are better resources out there for you.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.
Shut up about Tumblr. If it's not a discussion about Tumblr RP it will be deleted.

TBH I kind of wish there would be a DWRP exodus to Tumblr, and we'd take our active long-lasting games with decent Activity Checks with us. I know Tumblr's interface leaves a lot to be desired, but I'm sure there's something we can do with it. LJRP was mostly disorganized short-lived single fandom games way back when, I'm sure we could bring somewhat DWRP style games to Tumblr.

when you figure out a way to work around the shitty interface, maybe people from dwrp will consider it. that's easily the biggest hurdle that keeps people here from attempting to rp over there.

even most of the tumblr rpers i know hate rping on tumblr, so they use dw, forums or gdocs for most of their actual rping. the interface isn't just bad for rping, it's borderline unusable if you want to do anything more than private psls or ic blogs. you can't run a game on tumblr.

tbh i think dwrp-style rp will continue to decline until some new site comes along that can take the place of tumblr, dw and plurk. our community is too fragmented and too separated from fandom now.

I'm worried about that, but part of me also thinks that the Tumblr userbase is going to get older too and eventually they'll want something a little more substantial than cracky memes and disjointed random threads. LJRP in its infancy was mostly tiny groups and crack RP, too, so I'm hoping the Tumblr RP community will eventually get a little better.

I don't know about anyone else but in my time using tumblr I have only seen the userbase getting younger, not older.

It's probably not going to happen again soon though with real life starting again soon.

i boomerang stuff all the time. there are loads of people out there who are willing and able to boomerang threads if you both happen to be online at the same time, you just have to find them.
