Rundown: rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

do you guys prefer PvP or PvE style games? If there's a PvP option in the games you do play, do you usually play them?

PVP personally. PVE can be fun if you're playing in a group and it's like an MMO or something, but otherwise whats the point?

because a lot of MMO have pretty bad PvE shit unless you are with friends

generally pve, but i've been known to dabble in pvp if it's a system where everyone is on an even footing (excepting player skill, of course). i despise pvp where people that play longer have equipment that gives them a gigantic edge, like most MMOs and, sadly, a lot of shooters.

PVE. I enjoy running around and shooting/stabbing/blowing shit up with friends. I do not enjoy dealing with hyper-competitive thirteen year olds trying desperately to be edgy, which seems to be a staple of PVP everywhere.

typically i prefer pve, because i prefer story and content to bang bang shoot 'em up. i don't MIND playing pvp if it's necessary or i'm feeling particularly cocky in my mad skillz in the fps games i play. but i'm a competitive person, so i get irritated when i suck and lose (which happens more than i'd like). which means i go on long breaks from playing pvp.

pvp just pisses me off because i don't have the time/patience to git gud, and if the game has a story there's no progression from pvp and that's generally all i care about.

I've found myself drawn to WvW myself. I don't know if other MMOs outside of Guild Wars 2 have it, but it's a ton of fun.

PvE, though I'm not against PvP with friends. PvP with randos is like asking for some kid to scream racist things at you/say how they banged your mom.
