Shipping companies are testing out self-driving trucks for long haul drives right now. The very instant they're reliable and profitable enough to implement on a wide scale anywhere from 1 to 3 million trucking jobs are going to disappear.

okay, i used to work in the auto safety industry and i need to point out that self-driving cars are not going to be a thing for at LEAST 25 years or so for about two dozen safety reasons, not the least of which are the inevitable problems that occur when you mix automation and human drivers on the road. you can't force people to get rid of their current cars and switch to self-driving ones, and you can't safely have self-driving cars and human-driven cars on the road at the same time because humans are unpredictable and the entire premise of self-driving cars is that they are able to communicate with each other and predict what the other cars on the road are going to do. there are a lot of very big and very real safety issues that currently don't have viable solutions, so while self-driving cars sound great in theory and some have even been tested out, they're a very long way from being implemented in practice.

I just want to know, are there any games anywhere that people actually tag in a timely manner? None of this SUPER BACKTAG FRIENDLY nonsense, I want to find a place to write with people who are actually going to get through a thread inside of two weeks. I'm not trying to be bitchy about it, but I can't seem to find anywhere to RP anymore that people actually seem to be active and actually tag more than like twice a week. It's depressing. Like I don't even care about the genre so much anymore, I just want to actually write with people again and get tagged more than once every four days if I'm lucky.
