If there wasn't anything offensive, why delete without warning?

The mod could have posted a comment saying "please don't use Game Discussion thread for dead games" and, if necessary, frozen what was already there.

I wasn't involved so personally I don't care but deleting harmless discussion makes no sense.

i'm pretty sure most sane people know that spamming, offensive or not, is going to get nuked.

I'd love this, but with less focus on missions. That's ultimately what kept me from station 72.

I decided to go alone, because fuck it, it's my dream to visit this country alone or not. It required some planning, and research but it's completely doable. Sure it's scary, but so worth it.

Public transportation is amazing, and in Tokyo and most of Osaka all stations and lines have information in english. No voice info in Osaka, though. Hyperdia and tokyo metro android apps are your best friends. Food in convenience stores gets cheaper in evening. Remember that many shops do not accept non-japanese-issued cards, - or even cards at all - japanese people love their cash. Have printed address both in romaji and kanji for your staying place, and for embassy of your country, on you ALL THE TIME. Print it numerous times just in case you happen to lose one copy.

Of course there is MORE to it, but these points seems to be most overlooked by my friends who went to Japan and had problems.

mimes make me nauseous, and i've actually thrown up from one trying to touch me to lure me into a gig they were doing as i passed by on the street.

i am uncomfortable around little people (aka midgets). i've almost walked into traffic to avoid walking past one too close.

For cheap lodgings in Tokyo try Kurumi Mansion. The owner speaks english, and is very helpful. Map with important places, shops and stations is included with the room, and he will try to help you as much as he can. For a price of hostel you will get your own room with kitchen and bathroom.

If you're scared you will get lost, it's best to take bus from airport, as opposed to train. Sure, bus takes a little longer, but he ends on T-CAT, which is 10/15 minutes walk from the Kurumi Mansion, and you can easily check the walking route via google maps and street view.

but that's literally what it is. not all censorship is world-endingly serious. the spelling f*ck is censorship ffs.

Plane tickets were always biggest obstacle. When they suddenly went down, all my friends with some savings jumped at the chance.

for me the frightening part would be going to another country alone without someone i know at my destination that can help me out, especially in regards to language. unless there was some kinda special event where i'd semi-easily be able to locate others in the same boat as me.

not that those aren't great reasons to visit, i'd want to do those sorta things too, but not completely by myself. that's probably just a difference in personality.

airplanes, but not actually going on airplanes. i'm afraid of airplanes crashing into me and get anxious cold sweats whenever a loud plane flies overhead because my brain starts thinking it's going to crash and kill me. my family makes fun of me constantly for this lmao and i guess it is pretty ridiculous.

i didn't pledge since there's other vidya coming out this year that i wanted to save my money for, but i might check out dies irae later if it goes on sale.

hmm, well i'll start off with saying that when i went, i didn't travel alone-- i went with two other friends with very minimal japanese speaking proficiency and learned 5 or so key phrases that got me by. getting lost with friends is a much better prospect than getting lost on your lonesome, that's for sure. we also planned our trip down to the fuckin dime-- where we would be going each day, researching and booking all our hotels in advance, the cost of every location we were going to, subway maps, bus maps, jr line maps, maps of every area we were visiting pre-printed. doing a lot of planning in advance really took away most of the nerves and the "oh man, what if [worst case scenario] happens" jitters that comes with traveling in a totally new place.

that said, a lot of the major metropolitan areas in japan (esp in tokyo) are very VERY english friendly, a lot of japanese people have passable english speaking skills, and every time we did get lost (once we got on the wrong damn bullet train, which was terrifying), some extremely nice people were able to direct us to our destination.

if one day you decide you want to go, anon, i highly recommend going with a friend and doing a load of planning for it. even just knowing you have a backup plan and came prepared makes you feel so much better.

i went once 3 years ago and once again last year. my plane ticket last year was nearly half the price of my previous ticket

They existed at some point but artists are surprisingly good at self-preservation and sometimes running the fuck away is the best response.

How friendly is this game if you're coming in without friends already in? I have been thinking about joining for a while because I love the premise, but I don't play an anime or popular fandom and I've heard that it's clique-ish there.

i also suck royally at cooking but microwaving things like this instead of using the stovetop helps me immensely. there's hundreds of thousands of recipes like this out there

even i can make eggs now

aside from eggs, premade meals (for lunch or dinner) in general that can be microwaved are your best friend. we're in 2017 now, they exist
