rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

The shitposters are bored today.

But as a trans person myself, I hate this shit too. I hate when tumblr trans-tweenagers do this and I hate when cis artists do this. Who does it expressly doesn't matter, but it's uniformly the approach that bothers me because it's so often based on gender essentialist bs (such-and-such character talked about his feminine side, SHE'S A TRANS WOMAN! Such-and-such character talked about feeling tomboyish and not like the other girls, OMG HE'S A TRANS MAN!! etc.)

In this case, I don't think it's transphobic and while I try to just sort of let people get on and do their own shit it doesn't mean I like it or think it's a good trend.

I don't deny that there's a good amount of that, but there's plenty of people just doing it because it makes them feel happy.

i would say the people who are doing it for points vastly outweigh those doing it because it makes them happy, after being in multiple fandoms where this is done and doing some snooping on peoples' "about me" pages.
