All the pretty little anons

Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme. Your unfunny, forced memes also fall under this rule.
Do not treat this comm like your personal therapist. Threads about nonfictional suicide, self injury, rape, and abuse will be deleted. There are better resources out there for you.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.
Shut up about Tumblr. If it's not a discussion about Tumblr RP it will be deleted.

it's possible to be gay and still find the opposite sex aesthetically attractive

it's not possible to be gay and engage in active romantic or sexual relationships with the opposite sex

What about finding the opposite sex sexually attractive and saying you would fuck them even if you don't actively do it. Are you still gay?

I think you could be gay in that case, but you wouldn't be homosexual. Like, you could be bisexual but also be homoromantic, only interested in pursuing relationships with the same sex, and averse to casual sex. That counts as "gay" in my mind.

no, that's bi.

bi isn't a curse state, why would you do so much mental gymnastics to avoid the label?

because nobody likes bi people

biphobia is a thing, yeah, but so is plain old homophobia so idk why one would be so adverse to one label if you're already the other

Biphobia exists from straights AND the gay community. Lots of gay people think bisexuality isn't real or that they're lying in some way.

you don't have to tell me, anon, i'm bi. i fucking know.

biphobia sucks but it's never sucked SO MUCH that the idea of someone doing mental gymnastics to avoid it when they're already fucking queer is stupid to me.

i'd say it's because more people are willing to accept gay people than accept bi people. so even if their friends/family/whatever aren't homophobic, that's no guarantee they aren't biphobic, and they might feel pressured to look like they're "picking a side" to avoid all the drama and bullshit and accusations of attention seeking, being a whore, being indecisive, etc.

I think you may want to have a long talk with yourself about the possibility of being bi. It's not the end of the world, but you're probably not gay.

da

honestly i think that people can claim to feel and say whatever they want. what it comes down to is whether you feel attraction to and/or want to fuck people of the same or opposite gender.

my straight gal friend might say that Hot Anime Girl is incredibly beautiful and bangable and 200% her type, but that doesn't make her gay. My lesbian friend might gush about how attractive chris hemsworth's biceps are, but at the end of the day she's in bed with another woman and uninterested in fucking guys.

talk is cheap. desire and actions are what counts.

(Anonymous) 2016-10-20 12:54 am (UTC)(link)
Your sexuality isn't defined by your relationship status, it's by sexual attraction. Just like how straight people who abstain from sex by choice are still straight.

(Anonymous) 2016-10-20 12:45 am (UTC)(link)
til gay people aren't gay if they're in a het relationship

because that neeeeeever happens

(Anonymous) 2016-10-20 12:57 am (UTC)(link)
don't be a fucking pedant. someone in a beard relationship is, ostensibly, straight until they come out.

(Anonymous) 2016-10-20 01:15 am (UTC)(link)
no they aren't you massive retard

(Anonymous) 2016-10-20 01:23 am (UTC)(link)
yes they are.

ostensibly they are straight. they wish to be seen as straight, and often they are even trying to convince themselves they are straight. they probably aren't in their heart of hearts, but, ostensibly, they are. this is why coming out of the closet is such a big thing.

or do you i need to tell you what the fucking highlighted word means?

the irony in this comment i'm dying
