Building something a little different. More dressing-room than game, but might appeal?

Characters awaken after death and must undergo a Trial to determine allegiance. Characters can hang around in group areas and fluff as much as they like or participate in quests that move along the story.

No apps, powers nerfed but regainable, strongly written sword-and-sorcery setting. Plot with different possible endings based on character actions, lasts 20 months.

this game is so much fun. I haven't felt this fired up for RP in a while!

looking for a PB who's an older white woman (middle aged or beyond preferable) with light hair who still appears well-groomed if not distinctly beautiful for her age

Can you tell who the www clique are these days just by who they app and the quality of their writing, or are they at risk of leaking into other dressing rooms if we are hypothetically and not totally scheming to build one or two right now?

lots of people use fiction as a way to escape reality. they know it's fiction, but it's a way to forget about real life for a bit. i don't expect all of my fiction to be sunshine and rainbows. but when a lot of the choices on network tv for adults are RIPPED FROM THE HEADLINES procedurals/dramas, gritty grimdark shows that are allergic to daylight, superhero vigilantes, antiheroes etc. i can see how someone might get tired of seeing shitty people all over the news, then turning on a tv show and seeing more of the same, except you're expected to sympathize and empathize with the people doing awful things because they're the protagonists.

ofc the solution is to watch something else, but sometimes it's not easy to find something one might find more palatable- see my point above about grimdark oversaturation.

Just remember that you might not get us all in one game and that's okay. If you find a direction that suits and some people are biting, you don't need to cast your net too much wider!

Actually, a lot of the people playing friends of Lorelai's parents in Gilmore Girls nail the "kind of snooty 50+ WASP" description.

It sounds like a low-stress environment and you can probably get away with ignoring the angstier parts of your character having had to be dead in canon to participate here. Bonus points for it being fresh off the presses and (I think) run by a babby mod who probably is likely to be accommodating... I mean, it's a dressing room AND they're probably not a jaded salt mine so you should be able to 'you do you' in that environment.

May I recommend Due South? Especially in the later seasons with Ray Kowalski. There are interrogation scenes where violence is employed against suspects, but the narrative is pretty good about explicitly condemning that behavior -- the show's central conceit involves an extremely law-abiding Mountie from the Northern Territories working with a Chicago homicide detective.

(It's also just a weird and wonderful gem of a show and everyone should watch it.)

go to www and look in the archive from around 2012-2105. the ones that post regularly and have huge long threads are them. onthe_threshold, hostile_experience, the she-hulk, all the marvel las and comics with la pbs, and a few of the ocs made to fuck with them. all the edgy tryhard shits who have admitted that they 'can't play multiple verses, so people just have to adapt to their world'.

I feel like I'm never going to have a real job

Skyrim on the PS3 and when I get sick of dying, I play a little paper Mario on my N64! It's been a blast revisiting my old games. I lost my internet about 2 weeks ago and I have to wait another 2 days for them to set it up again, but for now I'm enjoying the nostalgia.

I played there p regularly but it was on lj and like five or more years ago. Most people I know who played there left around then. It was way before the DW move that it became shit, but it definitely was mod issues and issues with tag usage and ignoring player concerns. I think modship switched hands to someone though.

It was more populated by western media as a whole, so that might be why no one you know played there? Or it could be because it was so long ago. It was basically one of the last operating decent dressing rooms until it became a dinosaur fueled by wankers.

this copypasta makes me laugh because the nastiest cheating stories i've heard always involve someone having an affair with their spouse's same-sex bff. so much for trusting your instincts!
