This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme. Your unfunny, forced memes also fall under this rule.

A bit of both, maybe.

While a preference post is good to see for reference, most players I have tagged don't bother, unless they use the journal for specific types of memes (so a preference post saying "I do not play [ship]" in a journal commenting on a shipping meme is important, for example).

It also helps for a journal to be set up with some kind of basic information. I don't need a huge navigation and pages and pages of stuff, I don't even mind if it's in the default layout. But things like the character's actual name in the name field, rather than some quirky one-word username in Latin or whatever, will make it more convenient at first glance. Using the Captain America example in OP, when people dump countless journals with Chris Evans as a PB on a meme, I'd like to know for sure that I am tagging/was tagged by Cap and not Evans in another role. Plus, as above anon mentioned, effort put into doing up the journal suggests effort put into playing the character.

Im fine with my rl friends knowing my fandoms/that I rp and I mention it every now and then. I guess I'd be fine with them reading my threads, but none of them have ever expressed any interest in doing so. If they were more fandomy I might encourage them to join my game.

i guess i can't blame them but i got pretty invested in it. wish i could move on just as easily as they did

sorry to presume if this isn't about him being a chinese guy closely linked to chinese/hongkonger culture, but the 'i don't want to write (character) because i'm scared of writing (ethnicity) wrong' mentality just leads to no poc characters getting played ever. so seriously: just give it a shot. it'll be fine so long as you're receptive and trying.

a rl friend and i are both into rp, but in separate parts of the internet

we give each other vague updates about our ships and plotlines on occasion, but apart from that, we mutually give each other space and never share the writing itself-- usually not even the names of the characters. no real reason why, except we're sort of both shy about it.

I use separate e-mail addresses, writing styles, and names for all my online IDs. RP is the most far removed.

It's worked well so far. No one's found me out, and I plan to keep it that way. RP is my escape from the rest of the shit I have going on, I keep it as separate as possible and then some.

ughh i feel so bad for winner and their fans :( they were seriously shafted. i have a hard time getting into yg's artists because of everything i've heard/seen about yg and the way he treats his artists.
