to save time. if i say i'm bisexual, men are generally going to think i'm interested in them, when i am not. and i don't particularly feel like going into my tragic backstory with everyone to try and explain why, no, i don't want to date or have sex with any men.

I find both the give and take sides of it pleasant. And while someone else might, personally, no, I don't... really see any shame in asking for compliments, actively or passively, as long as one's not trying to guilt or cow other people into giving them.

you don't need pcs in power positions because the black market doesn't need to just give marching orders for shit to happen. people need to be proactive and make their own plots.

for fuck's sake, like another anon said, there's a non-bm group of characters who are doing significantly more criminal plotting than any bm character is right now, and no one needed to tell them to do it, pc or otherwise.

not really, no. they're oversensitive in general, so the best thing you can do is just be as upfront as you can. sugar coating it too much just leaves too much room for interpretation as to what you really meant, so just be upfront and tell them you need some space.

their hurt feelings aren't your fault if you're not intending to actually crush their dreams. you're allowed to have your space, man.

Bought my little sister Civ VI as a present on Steam. It's on my account, as my parents feel she's too young to have her own. But I want to play Xenoverse 2 when it comes out, while she's going to be spending all her free time on Civ VI, trying to earn achievements.

Is there a way, besides one of us playing on Offline mode, to have two games running on different computers for the same Steam account?

if there's a good reason for you not wanting to hurt their feelings (not just "weh it's awkward if they're sad", but they're otherwise a close friend, you have to work with them over a long period of time, you see them every morning whether you want to or not etc.), then you might be able to frame is as a "your own personal preferences" thing

like if they're texting you nonstop, you could gently say (or text) to them that you get stressed out when you have to keep up with a steady stream of messages, so could they cut back? thanks.

this applies to all sorts of interactions -- "hey, i appreciate all your invitations to go minigolfing but my schedule is super crazy i don't want to keep turning you down. could you take me off the invite list for now? thanks, i appreciate it." "getting messages via carrier pigeon isn't really my thing-- I'll miss all your letters and your birds will just get shut out of my home. Could we go back to email instead?"

DON'T apologize for your preferences, just lay them out in a "by the way" tone, ask for what you need (fewer texts, less pp's, no more invites) and say thanks at the end like you're already expecting them to follow your request.

other than using offline mode like you said and a very, very few games that don't actually interface with the steam client, no. that's not possible by design.
