rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

dwrp's still really active but a lot of it has moved to plurk. there's a shitton of games i have either never seen dropped here, or very rarely get dropped here, but they're alive and well

if anything it's anoncomms that are slowing down

definitely and while a lot of people have either fully moved to tumblr or tried to, i know the ones on my timeline who have complain about the interface constantly and talk about coming back p often

that or they do both dwrp and tumblr at the same time

most of us are too old to want to deal with the culture shock of tumblr rp and the ugly, complicated interface tho

yeah, i heard about tumblr rp and i'm honestly not sure how people manage to do that? it's great that they do, but it seems like it would be really messy/hard to keep threads distinct. maybe you really do have to be young and persistent...

There are things about tumblr RP I enjoyed but I just couldn't stick it out there. The interface makes RPing a pain in the ass.

Via plurk. Pretty much the mods plurk to their timelines, people replurk to spread the word.

The other way is via ATP. Post a character ad and if your preferences fit the game, a player is likely to mention it. Though this is less common since ATP is slowly becoming less and less used and plurk is becoming the main way to find games.

From what I've seen most games that start up now post an ad here to rpanons and link to a mod plurk. ATP is less commonly used but still exists, that's at

app_this_plz if you're unfamiliar with it. It's unfortunately true that people tend to rely on word-of-mouth now rather than posting ads. The character ads on ATP can be a useful place, though, if you want people to come to you.
