I actually like this show pretty well so far, and I'm a fan of the comics.

never read the comics, but i'm loving the series so far (enough to play from it). you have any parts/persons that you like the most?

Tom Ellis is amazing as Lucifer (and I am actually getting a muse, gdit). But I'm also enjoying Amenadiel and Dr. Martin.

And if comics are at all your thing, I recommend the series! It's a different animal than the TV show, but it's amazing, and they're recently re-started it.

he very much is (and that'd be who i play) but good god, please for the love of all that's holy (and unholy) pick up either Amenadiel or Linda. i've been dying to see one (or both) around. there's a handful of luci's so far and a couple maze's and i've seen two chloes as well, but no one else and man, i hope there's a ton as the series progresses. and that it gets picked up for s2.

sadly, no, i'm not a comic fan, but i did see the interview he did where he said how it diverted from the comics and that it was its own thing (so i don't feel too bad for not reading them). so far, i'm really enjoying the vibe of the show and how it's tongue in cheek and not totally serious or procedural. really looking forward to seeing where it goes.

I'd have to see more of Linda first, and I'd honestly be more likely to just watch Amenadiel than play him. I also hope it gets picked up for S2. Apparently, the ratings are pretty decent, so we can hope?

Yeah, there are a vague few similarities between it and the comics, but that's it. The titular character is actually a lot more genial and likable, for once thing. I actually was not too fond of the procedural bits, but they're starting to grow on me a bit. Still, I think the two-parter "Favorite Son" and "Wingman" have been my faves, too far.

An anon recommended this show to me and at first I thought it was utter trash (why would you take such a great premise and turn it into a police procedural of all things?), but now I've watched all the episodes that have aired so far and there's just something rather charming about it. Maybe it's Tom Ellis and his guyliner.

the fact that they keep putting him in that damn eyeliner is killing me. but i love it so much. smug little shit.

It gets better, tbh. I'm not a huge fan of the changes, but honestly, the show is growing on me.

Yeah, it has! I really liked the wings storyline. Hoping for more of that and less boring crime of the week.

The wings two-parter is honestly my fave so far. Hopefully the show will settle into its own from now on (and not get cancelled).

My biggest problem is the way Maze has changed. From being a loyal "come hell or high water" right hand to catty, jealous chick who's obviously The Loser in a pseudo-love triangle, not to mention her going behind Lucifer's back?

i think she's still loyal and she pointed that out at the end of this episode, saying she would look out for him whether he wanted her to or not. she legitimately thinks she's doing right by him. he might be right, though, he might not be the only one being affected by staying on earth, so it's really up to see how far it goes. i don't read the comics, but i've read a blurb about what she can do with his wings considering she has that feather, so i'm curious to see where that goes, too.

At the very end of the series, yeah.

Maz is utterly devoted to Lucifer, but there are several times where she calls him on his shit, subtly or overtly.

(I can't compare to the TV version, though, I haven't seen it.)

tbh, i love any character that's willing to call someone out on their shit. that she's as devoted to him as she is and can still tell him he's being an ass just makes it better.

if you like her in the comics, you'd probably like her in the series. she's got a dark sense of humor, is devoted to lucifer and enjoys causing pain, and has no trouble calling him out on his shit as well as trying to play matchmaker to chloe and dan to try to get her out of lucifer's life so he can stop being distracted with human shit and be the devil again.

I think Lucifer is smarmy and not at all charming or sexy, and the girl is one of those annoying magically immune Bella Swan types. And yet, this show is growing on me...

Their dynamic is getting a little more interesting, and Amenadiel's scheming is so amusing. I especially love his interactions with Luci. Would definitely love to see an Amenadiel floating around RP. :)

i'm not going to disagree with your feelings on anything about it, but... bella swan was never immune to anything. she fell for all the vampire tricks but she had ones of her own that countered them. so, that could apply with chloe if she's got some weird spiritual/magical reason for her resistance to lucifer, though i'm not sure if she was actually susceptible to amenadiel or not, so i'm in the air on her.

just... yeah. i'm a pedantic ass and chloe's not a helpless idiot getting herself into trouble all the time until she ascends to be a perfect vampire snowflake.

I actually like Chloe, but I'm a bit tired of the whole "But this girl is Different and I Must Have Her" thing. That said, I do like her buddy relationship that's growing with Lucifer, and I sincerely hope this show doesn't go the obvious route (as in, she goes for him in the end).

I find myself hoping more and more that she reconciles with Dan and that Lucifer just accepts it. She and Lucifer work really, really well when you put aside the romantic thing, even if you let him make sex jokes at her for an hour, but this whole jealousy and lovey-dovey looks is boring, predictable, and obnoxious.

Who else cried at the latest episode?

I will admit I did tear up. When he was shouting at the heavens and then again with the priest and when Lucifer was holding up the guy and screaming at him. Damn good performance on the emotion.

Definitely one of the better episodes!

Tom Ellis does an amazing job, seriously. He's the best part of that show.

He is. I'm glad they chose him for the part. Fingers crossed for a season 2.
