Tom Ellis is amazing as Lucifer (and I am actually getting a muse, gdit). But I'm also enjoying Amenadiel and Dr. Martin.

And if comics are at all your thing, I recommend the series! It's a different animal than the TV show, but it's amazing, and they're recently re-started it.

he very much is (and that'd be who i play) but good god, please for the love of all that's holy (and unholy) pick up either Amenadiel or Linda. i've been dying to see one (or both) around. there's a handful of luci's so far and a couple maze's and i've seen two chloes as well, but no one else and man, i hope there's a ton as the series progresses. and that it gets picked up for s2.

sadly, no, i'm not a comic fan, but i did see the interview he did where he said how it diverted from the comics and that it was its own thing (so i don't feel too bad for not reading them). so far, i'm really enjoying the vibe of the show and how it's tongue in cheek and not totally serious or procedural. really looking forward to seeing where it goes.

I'd have to see more of Linda first, and I'd honestly be more likely to just watch Amenadiel than play him. I also hope it gets picked up for S2. Apparently, the ratings are pretty decent, so we can hope?

Yeah, there are a vague few similarities between it and the comics, but that's it. The titular character is actually a lot more genial and likable, for once thing. I actually was not too fond of the procedural bits, but they're starting to grow on me a bit. Still, I think the two-parter "Favorite Son" and "Wingman" have been my faves, too far.

next episode should have more linda since they're working with a therapist murder, but really, outside of maze, chloe, and luci, the other chars don't have too much to work with, so i get why picking them up is iffy. i still have hope.

as far as the procedural bits, it's about as procedural as limitless, which glosses over most parts and focuses on the stories between the characters. i think this is a little wobbly in trying to find its feet, but it's giving us a gist of the chars and their motivations. i hope if it does get picked up for s2, we'll start to move beyond that and into something more fantastical.

Yes! I heard they were having more Linda. And honestly, Amenadiel isn't the kind of muse I'd really pick up, although I like watching him (and his actor being stupidly handsome doesn't help). I'm looking forward to more Linda, though! I think she's adorable.

I'm giving the show a break, because it's the first season, and most shows take awhile. I just hope that it gets at least three seasons, honestly, but it's impossible to tell how far it's going to get, at this point.

i like seeing luci and amy together. there's definitely that family dynamic going on and all those mixed up emotions and i'm wondering how far amenadiel's willing to go. linda, on the other hand, i sort of hope gets some kind of justice for being used by amenadiel to fuck with lucifer. and i'm curious if she'll find out if he actually is who he says he is and believe it and if she'll keep seeing him. it's nice to see her moving past that lustfulness into being an actual therapist and saying no to sex.

oh, i'm not saying it's bad. i love it. like, super in love with. but to judge it on one season that's only going to be what, 10-12 eps? not really fair. i hope it not only gets picked up, but that we get a longer second season.

(Anonymous) 2016-03-14 11:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Yep! I loved seeing them actually banter in "Wingman" instead of Amenadiel being a self-righteous jerk, and also seeing him actually do something nice by healing the comatose cop. I have to admit that I also liked Maze messing with him; that was interesting to see.

I'm also enjoying Linda getting greater depth. She actually seems to care about Lucifer - and I seriously hope Amenadiel gets a calling-out for manipulating her. I really want to see her doctor-patient relationship with Lucifer develop more (and seeing her "pillow talk" with Lucifer about displacement was kind of cute).

Yeah, most shows take a little while to pick up. It doesn't seem to help that some people were complaining about Lucifer being "humanized" and all.

(Anonymous) 2016-03-14 11:21 pm (UTC)(link)
i'm wondering why he healed the cop. i'm torn between doing it to fuck with chloe somehow, which would fuck with lucifer, or because he actually likes chloe. or maybe he just wants to learn about her because i saw the way he was wondering wtf was going on between l/c. (which is another dynamic i love, but i'm torn between shipping l/c and l/m.)

definitely with you on the wanting her to have more depth/more screen time. i do like that even under his woowoo, she can still be her profession. she's just a little hot to trot during it. but she still sees him as a flawed being and is trying to help him as best she can. and i think her believing that he is lucifer will actually help with that, because a lot of her advice, while meant well, is wrong because she's going by metaphors only and not the actual devil being shunned by his father. so yeah, i kind of hope there's more of that too.

also, how awesome is dan/lucifer? not as a ship, obviously, but that rooster in the henhouse thing they both do. they definitely puff up around each other regarding chloe, even if lucifer's the only one actively and consciously trying to get approval. it's just cute. i love it. (don't get me started on the sign on trixie's door)

Honestly, I'm hoping he did it just to be a nice guy, for once. I mean, he is an angel. He can't be all bad (I type as I remember his version in the comics). And honestly, I'm more of an L/M person, partially because I like the whole "buddy cop" thing going on with Lucifer and Chloe. Maze is clearly devoted to Lucifer, but I also hope she gets more character development. I'm enjoying her so far.

Me, too! I like that she gets flustered, but still does her job, even when he doesn't like it. I was worried on her behalf when Lucifer punched the wall, but I'm glad that she's apparently not going anywhere (at least for the moment). I hope she sticks around and doesn't bail or get killed of or whatever.

I do love the banter between Lucifer and "Detective Douche", especially as Dan's actually getting to be more supportive of Chloe. Yeah, he can definitely still be a, well, douche, but it's nice that he's shown to have his good points. I love his interactions with Trixie (and holy cow, I missed the sign on the door). Also, Trixie's a cutie pie.

i'm withholding judgement until we get more in the story. amenadiel's a bit of a mystery to me as i know he's really not okay with being lucifer v.2, so he's pushing for lucifer to go back to hell so he can stop doing what he feels is beneath him or w/e, which, you know, sort of shows pride there and wow, wasn't that what luci fell for? i'd originally thought amy had something to do with the wings going missing, then he gave that totally pissy faced reaction to hearing they were gone and i was 'well, maybe not...', and then... so his motivations are pretty selfish at the moment but he seems to be couching it with 'what you're supposed to do', like the ends justifies the means. i love chloe/lucifer's dynamic in all aspects, buddy cop as well as the genuine feelings (as far as lucifer can feel) and her admitting she liked working with him was an aww moment. maze is boss and i love how much fun she had doing the dirty work. i'm looking forward to more of her, too.

i don't think they well, tbh. i think they're trying to balance the show well with 3 of each in the 'mains', sort of, and she's shown herself to be an actual part of the show with being luci's new confidant and maze being jelly over it.

it makes me laugh that lucifer's response to dan threatening him is to flirt with him. it's like, way to throw him off his groove. i think luci's dislike of dan stems mainly from his first meeting with him, which was outside trixie's school and he sort of made an off comment and lucifer was like 'she IS smart, you're the dumb one' and that was that. (my god, that sign had me laughing for days and i adore that she's essentially his biggest fan and the implication there's off-screen time between them since 'lucifer said...' and please give me a babysitting episode)

Yeah, I am really enjoying Amenadiel's scheming. It's actually fun to see him, and I'm wondering just what he's going to get up to now that Lucifer's onto him. As for Maze, I love her character so far, and I'm hoping she gets some exploration in future episodes.

I hope not. I love Dr. Martin, especially after this latest episode.

And yes. Give me more sarcastic banter between Luci and Detective Douche. Also, I would love more interaction between Lucifer and Trixie. The actress for her is adorable.

lucifer's not as dumb as he plays off as being. he's all about enjoying himself and having fun, but he's quick to notice the name, figure out it was amenadiel, then piece it back to maze. he plays the cavalier playboy, but he is the king of hell and i think the way he plays the character makes it sort of easy to forget that. also something i noticed (because do you like tldr?) is how he comes off so childish and immature, but it's because technically, that's what he is. he's a child, a newbie mortal to the realm learning what emotions are and what that means. how to use them. how to handle them. i've always noticed that i get annoyed with immortals characters that act like giant manbabies. like, you're 1000 years old. act like it. but there's actually an explanation for him in that unlike a vampire or w/e, he's never been human. he was created as an angel, fallen from grace, and sent to a place where he could watch the worst of what god made come to him. it's why he has such a hard time wrapping his head around anything good, because he doesn't see that. that's not his domain. so he comes to the mortal world and starts to change. he might not be human, but he's starting to feel like one and he's being a manchild about it. the teasing towards chloe. when trixie and chloe had that conversation about the boy that was teasing her and trixie said if chloe shot lucifer, that must mean she really likes him - that's the sort of thing lucifer's going through since he's sort of... i don't know, going through angel puberty or something. he likes chloe, but he doesn't know what that means and so he teases her, blames her for not liking him, and wow, was that never more obvious than last episode with getting all jelly over her and dan. which, from an adult, looks ridiculous, but when you think about it... makes a bit more sense. and since amenadiel's still an angelic being, he's all untouched by feelings still and has no idea what's happening and is playing the game the way they have been for eons.

dr martin is great. i love how she has that look on her face after she says something inappropriate to lucifer in response to his luciferness. and i'm happy she nixed the sex and is going to keep it professional. i think that comment from maze about her winding up like trash struck a nerve.

the ending of last night's has me wondering what's going to happen between lucifer and dan and dan and chloe, actually. because technically, dan screwed chloe over by not only knowing there was another shooter, but being the shooter. and lucifer's pretty protective and all righteous fury over 'his' people (delilah's death is what started this whole thing, after all) so i could see him deciding dan needed to be punished. good times. but yes, trixie is a human rainbow and i want more of her in the show. i think 10 is going to have more of her if the still i saw proves anything.

Yeah. Lucifer is smarmy and charming, and seems to coast by on that a lot, but he's also intelligent (which he'd have to be, given a.) his heritage and b.) his former job). I also loved his "rebirthday party"; that was adorable. He's also an undeniable git a lot of the time, especially where Chloe's involved, but hopefully that will change as he matures (and I think it will).

I really love Dr. Martin more after that last episode. Fantastic sex aside, she really does care about Lucifer and seems to want what's best for him. I really wonder how she's going to react to "Dr. Canaan" from now on, especially as we have no idea as to what Lucifer ultimately told her (or didn't tell her) about him.

I kind of wonder why the heck Dan shot Malcolm. Was he seriously dirty? Is there something else going on? All the signs point to Dan doing some stupid things (and now feeling guilty about it), but now that Malcolm's back and being a creepy jerk, I wonder how this is going to affect his development.

I am all for more Trixie. She is precious and adorable. I'd totally buy her as a human rainbow.

i loved the rebirthday angel themed party. it was perfect. the git thing's the thing, though, like... he's literally a child working his way through his emotions. i'm not sure if i'm 100% on board with luci and chloe ever hooking up (but i'll meme the hell out of that), but they are building an actual relationship with real feelings (that hug was priceless) and it's sort of fun for me to watch him work his way through what emotions really are and how he can deal with having them. i'm not going to deny he is and can be a dick because hello, actual satan here, but i also like the way he's literally acting like the black sheep of the family and giving 'dad' the finger and doing what he wants. it's an interesting angle since lucifer is usually always played as the outside character type where the narrative is read from another pov, so seeing it from his side is kind of fun.

definitely liking her more as a person and character after last ep. i think it gave her more autonomy outside of lucifer's influence and it showed she had a will of her own. i don't think lucifer told her anything, because wow, how pissed would she be if she found out that 'oh, right, that's my brother' and he was giving her advice on a family member. (whether or not she believes the religious angle, the fact that amenadiel has ties to lucifer would have made it incredibly unprofessional) but yes, would like to see more between them as well.

i'm so confused about that. like, clearly malcolm's dirty and killed his partner, but WHY kill his partner? and how did dan know he'd done it? and why was dan there and what's going on aaah. i really want to see lucifer pop him one in the face, no lie.

she's precious and i love her scenes.
