Was interested in this game until I realized how much of an ex-Paradisa circlejerk it is.

And I used to play in Paradisa. Sure, it wasn't as unwelcoming of an experience for me as some former players claim, but many of the offenders causing that are in this game.

Feeling the same too, anon.

Out of curiosity, are you also a former Paradisa player, one currently in Drift Fleet, or both? If you aren't comfortable answering, it's fine.

i apped as former paradisa player looking to give this game a go. i hadn't been in paradisa and rping in general for maybe 5 years? came in with a new name, new hobbies, new characters. surprise, my own ship crew filled with former paradisa players circlejerked and continued their old game cr, but in space. couldn't even last 4 months in game even when i tagged out and gave more substance than [ ALL CAPS old para jokes ] which were run into the ground.

i got a million trillion things i'd rather fucking do than be fuckin with this game. good to see things never change, tho.

+1 I was never in Paradisa, but I had a similar experience when I apped into Drift Fleet. It was pretty disappointing for such a large game.

+1 I don't mind CRAU but it's fucking annoying that the majority they reference back to is shit that happened in their old dead game

I just joined recently, never played in paradisa or even know anything about it really, and I'm having a great time.

If you go into it expecting problems, you'll probably create them without even meaning to. Or if you go into it just wanted to have fun, and tag whoever you can, you could have as much fun as I am.

Your pleasant experience is courtesy of the people you tagged. Some ex-Paradisa players are good folk who just so happen to be friendly with those who aren't. There are casts without any former players, you could have apped into one. Or you could have a popular and/or attractive character. I don't fault you for enjoying yourself, but that doesn't necessarily mean things went as well for others, and they might not be for future applicants too.

Not op here. It felt welcoming when I was new and I didn't expect anything. The longer I stayed, the more I started to notice the problems.

I apped in knowing one person, tagged out a lot and didn't just make posts, was hype for CR and I got the same short, bad, "funny" tags and ignored most of the time. I had an open mind and even tagged OCs, which are on my "no" list. I was there about six months and really unhappy the entire time.

It basically boils down to if you play an old Para, play men in particular, and how popular your character is and if someone as a player finds them attractive. There's also a ton of wankers I found out about later like Yuff. As well as a number of unrecognizable ones that are much older and CRAU, mostly from you got it! Para.

i didn't even last a month because i was so tired of being outright ignored

it'd be nice if my crewmates actually tagged me ONCE to at least introduce their characters to mine
