Makes me upset. I want to play for the story and to actually share this fandom with my wife. I'm not good at SRPGs normally, but Awakening I could handle.

if you're playing for the story, then you will be disappointed. without spoiling anything: hoshido's story is sort of okay since it's supposed to be a standard fire emblem campaign with awakening mechanics, but the writing in nohr and invisible kingdom are total messes.

if you're playing fates for the husbandos and waifus, then you're good to go

gameplay wise, it's far and away the best game in the series.
