I can sort of understand why people think there's a few too many, BUT from a marketing stand point it's perfect for getting the game more light.

i'm not a hardcore FE player by any means and i've only barely followed this and this is definitely weird but it isn't the super disgusting thing people on tumblr lead me to believe. i guess i can see why they would take it out for underage characters, but i don't see what's so perverted about rubbing this guy's ascot.

It's more that a lot of people find it creepy. No, it's not overt, but lbr. I don't know anyone who does things like that in real life.

i think that depends a lot on where those people are from. in some cultures light physical affection like headpatting (and maybe caressing cheeks) aren't that weird among friends. in others it's seen as weird.

the US isn't one of those places afaik, so it's not surprising that most americans think it's weird/creepy.

It's from Japan. The context is completely different.

I suspect it was an ESRB issue in addition to having some cultural connotations that just straight up don't translate into Western culture easily. I knew it was either going to be straight up removed or they'd take out all the "lewd" lines in it.

idk why you'd even take it out for underage characters. you can marry them and have a kid with them, but can't pat them on the head and tell them they've done a good job?

not to mention i'm pretty sure most of the originally-underage characters will have been aged up

if it's anything like awakening they'll just write around it. it's really hard to pass elise off as anything but like 14-15ish at the most, but if you just never reference her age you can pretend.
