I should know better than to engage but if ur really going to make this a class/3rd vs. 1st world issue than fyi increasing obesity rates are a global issue and one of the driving reasons is poverty

someone on my fb just posted a pic of her kid and fondly reminisced about how she found out she was pregnant...and six days later the kid was born

she had no idea she was pregnant for almost the entire pregnancy

i don't judge people for their bodies but when it gets to that point it's a problem.

this bitch got way more problems than being fat if she really didn't notice another being was inside her for 9 months

This has happened with thin people, too, and relates more to their pregnancy symptoms not being as obvious as other people's. Some women experience vaginal bleeding during their pregnancy and think they're still having their period. Some women didn't have a regular cycle before the pregnancy and thus don't connect the lack of one to the other. Surprise pregnancies are a special fucked-up occurrence.

yeah i guess that's true. the whole idea is just terrifying and alien to me though, that you could have such massive changes to your body and not even know. if nothing else she wouldn't have known to avoid alcohol and cigarettes or do any of the other things you do to try to ensure the health of your baby before it's born.

this happens with people that are just ignorant about themselves and their bodies. go look up 'i didn't know i was pregnant' and you'll see a lot of cases where women didn't become huge landwhales. hell, i had people thinking i'd just gained a few pounds when i was 9 months pregnant because i carried so far back in my body, i didn't have that protruding belly. some people just don't 'look' pregnant. and when you add ignorance about their own bodies into it or varied symptoms... you get surprise deliveries in bathrooms.

I don't have issues with fat people in general. I have issues with fat people trying to claim oppression points for being lazy, entitled fucks, and appropriating terminology used for groups of people who are oppressed for things they can't actually change. Being fat is not the same as being gay or black. It will never be the same. (Not hyperbole; this is literally tumblr shit I was unfortunate enough to see with my own two eyes.)
