Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme. Your unfunny, forced memes also fall under this rule.
Do not treat this comm like your personal therapist. Threads about nonfictional suicide, self injury, rape, and abuse will be deleted. There are better resources out there for you.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.
Shut up about Tumblr. If it's not a discussion about Tumblr RP it will be deleted.

A magic wielder is a subject of awe and hushed curiosity in Kingdomia; often, they're the children of only the richest of noble families (not likely to inherit the throne in a crisis of succession), as magic tutors are incredibly pricey. The social status that goes with it, however, is priceless. Guarantee to get you a spot at court.

Are you a:
> healer
> time mage
> elemental wizard
> necromancer

(Anonymous) 2016-01-12 10:11 pm (UTC)(link)
> elemental wizard

i see what you did there

(Anonymous) 2016-01-12 10:21 pm (UTC)(link)
As an elemental wizard, you like to take part in the nightly fire shows outside the palace whenever you can get away with it.

Are you:
> FRONT AND CENTRE, A TRUE PERFORMER, the flames dance to your tune
> Snugly ensconced in the chorus, working with everyone else
> Responsible for summoning water to douse the flames should anything get out of hand
> Singing

(Anonymous) 2016-01-12 10:31 pm (UTC)(link)
> FRONT AND CENTRE

"I'm the elitest wizard ever! Check out these flames, Captain Kirk!"

(Anonymous) 2016-01-12 10:39 pm (UTC)(link)
You move your body and your flames to the drumbeat like it's inside of you, with the fire throwing weak yellow shadows onto the planes of your face. You feel most alive when you are here, and that elation is clear and beautiful in your expression.

When the show ends, you get a standing ovation, appreciative jeers, flowers thrown at your feet - the whole nine yards.

How to do you react?
> bow/curtsy politely
> do a little dance
> flex
> push one of the lesser performers in front of you

(Anonymous) 2016-01-12 11:23 pm (UTC)(link)
> do a little dance

"Look at me, Phoenix-senpai! LOOK AT ME!!!"

(Anonymous) 2016-01-13 02:22 am (UTC)(link)
You finish with one more show of what you can do, hips swaying to the scandal and delight of the crowd. Your fire extends to the sky in one last exultant blaze. For a moment, night is day.

And then it's over, and the crowd returns home.

Later, as you're saying your goodbyes to the other performers, a stranger approaches you. What to do you?

> see what he wants
> walk away
> threaten to blast him with fire
> actually blast him with fire

i am a mysterious necromancer

(Anonymous) 2016-01-12 10:23 pm (UTC)(link)
As a necromancer, you keep the lower part of your face hidden behind dark silk at all times. It tells people exactly what your magic status is. Often, they keep their distance, but sometimes you have to deal with beseeching to raised loved ones.

This time, a young woman is begging you to bring her infant son back. What do you do?
> Kindly tell her that's not how necromancy works
> Agree to do it, as long as she pays up front
> Ignore her and move on
> Remove your silk mask and seduce her

(Anonymous) 2016-01-12 10:55 pm (UTC)(link)
kindly tell her that's, unfortunately, not how necromancy works. a summoning doesn't restore life, it only temporarily reanimates the empty shell of a body. such a thing would not only be painful for her in the end, it would pervert the memories she does have of her son.

perhaps she should try a cleric.

Your kindness and compassion in the face of this woman's grief-stricken demand raises your paragon stat by +5. The woman, although tearful, mumbles her appreciation and leaves in the direction of the temple.

When she leaves you alone, you can go back to the task at hand. Wait... what were you doing?

> Buying fruits and vegetables for tonight's salad
> Stocking up on goose liver and essence of weed for your next spell
> Heading to the tavern inn to meet your teacher
> Just out on a merry stroll through Towntown

Healer!

(Anonymous) 2016-01-12 10:44 pm (UTC)(link)
As a healer, your services are in constant demand. Physicians are highly educated masters of their art, yes, but they cannot make reverse wounds with a wave of their hands.

Where do you work?

> in the palace, tending to the guards and soldiers
> at the edge of a warzone, as part of a peace delegation
> in a small clinic alongside a kindly old doctor

(Anonymous) 2016-01-12 10:57 pm (UTC)(link)
>in a small clinic alongside a kindly old doctor

need the experience before taking up a highly-stressful work in the palace, old doctor is a bit old to go to the warzone so he needs help in his clinic

The man is a bit slow of hand these days, but his clients love him - after all, he'll accept payments in cheese or chicken or even people tidying up his cottage! You've learned a bit of medicine at his side.

Wheezing, he ambles into the room. What do you do?

> Immediately get up and offer him a chair
> Tell him you want to marry him and inherit his clinic
> Ask him if we would like some water
> Continue eating his cheese

(Anonymous) 2016-01-12 10:56 pm (UTC)(link)
> time mage!!

(Anonymous) 2016-01-12 11:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Time magic is the hardest discipline to learn. You had to attend a special school in the mountains and studied among the most learned mages in the world. You're 18 when you return to Kingdomessia, and everyone marvels at the wards that are on your arms (think tattoos, but magical).

You get to meet your family again, after five long years. What do you do first?

> Demonstrate your power to impress and amuse your siblings
> Tell your ailing father that you will spend every minute at his side, slowing time until a cure can be found
> Present yourself at court
