Root Double -Before Crime * After Days- Xtend Edition

Sci-fi/mystery game where nine people are trapped in a research facility due to a meltdown caused by the facility's nuclear reactor.

The director of the game is the same guy behind the Infinity series (Never7, Ever17, Remember11) with the scenario writing team being the same who wrote the Bravely Default games.

why does the art look like something out of a shitty hentai

because it's a visual novel, so even if the game itself isn't hentai the artist has probably worked on lots of hentai

because a lot of bishojo games still won't let go of that generic art style even in 2012-2016

thankfully, root double never had a porn version and apparently the writing is supposed to be good. a lot of people in japan have compared it to steins;gate in terms of quality.

the story looks cool but the higher tier rewards look... unappealing? I mean c'mon, it's 200 bucks to get a poster and tapestry added to your 99 dollar physical/digital game + physical/digital OST prize pack.

yeah, Clannad is more well-known in the west and Key admittedly has a bigger budget than Regista when it comes to producing merch, there's still waaaay more incentive to burn 205 bucks on Clannad's KS than there is to throw away 200 bucks on Root Double's.

they're getting backers, but you don't see a lot of people pledging beyond 99 dollars tbh.
