rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

idk man, i've seen people freaking out on plurk because they got a pm. like, just at the fact that they got one at all. i've been in ljrp for years, and there's been a definite increase in people who behave like this, so it has me thinking twice before i contact anyone privately.

lmfao well they weren't entirely all-caps freakouts, it was more like a lot of (unsures) and a weird judgmental attitude imbuing the whole thing, but it was pretty bewildering to see all the same.

I've seen this more in people seeing a private plurk than a PM to a journal. One person on my timeline at the time and a bunch of their friends conversing about how they get a shot of adrenaline even just seeing that they've had a private plurk because apparently they've been bullied in the past or confronted about behaviour that they didn't know was wrong.

So it's probably more of that then being surprised by someone wanting to RP with them.

the funny thing is, this has happened on multiple occasions. sometimes over a simple pm about a character, other times "hdu pm me to ask for this username i have never used since 2012!!!!!" etc. not just on my list but also on others' public plurks that i had mutual friends with.

i have since significantly cut down on my plurk list after dropping games, so i don't see it anymore.
