Make that anon suffer

Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme. Your unfunny, forced memes also fall under this rule.
Do not treat this comm like your personal therapist. Threads about nonfictional suicide, self injury, rape, and abuse will be deleted. There are better resources out there for you.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.
Shut up about Tumblr. If it's not a discussion about Tumblr RP it will be deleted.

simple answer? no.

only you decide what your gender is.

.......ok then you may want to give me the not simple answer because that just smacks of having problems with gender sterotypes and wanting to escape them, rather than any kind of trans condition

furthermore you don't "decide" what your gender is

you either are something or you're not. it's not like choosing which shirt you want to wear

alright, I'll give the long answer my best shot.

being trans isn't a condition. it's simply you realizing the gender your parents gave you isn't the one you are. therefore you "decide" (which was a poor choice of word on my part I will admit) that you are going to explore what gender you are. be it the "opposite" or any other (or lack of) genders that exist. or don't exist! which is largely the flack that Tumblr kids get but it's up to you to make up your own or not.

there's no rules.

re: stereotypes.

a lot of trans people DO believe they realized that they were trans because their parents gave them dresses/soldier toys, that much is true.

but that is not what makes anyone trans. but unfortunately there will be people who do get caught up on gender roles and will continue to do so.

As an actual trans-person with dysphoria: fuck you and this tucute bullshit.

My struggles aren't something you can wear like a fucking accessory. You're just pulling the "Not Like Other Girls" bullshit.

it doesn't undermine your experiences or make you any less trans, or make any trans person who doesn't have dysphoria any less trans either. everyone is going to have different experiences.

trans people who don't have dysphoria face the same struggles as those who do. i highly doubt an exploration of gender is comparable with an accessory simile.

"trans people who don't have dysphoria face the same struggles as those who do"

this is the dumbest thing i've read in a long time

how so? all trans people face discrimination, the risk of injury and murder, difficulty changing legal name and gender, etc.

>realizing the gender your parents gave you isn't the one you are

ok and that's dysphoria

Yes, and what a lot of people seem to assume is that you need to have bodily/physical dysphoria to "count" as trans.
