Make that anon suffer

Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme. Your unfunny, forced memes also fall under this rule.
Do not treat this comm like your personal therapist. Threads about nonfictional suicide, self injury, rape, and abuse will be deleted. There are better resources out there for you.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.
Shut up about Tumblr. If it's not a discussion about Tumblr RP it will be deleted.

It's not so much that "GRRR I DON'T WANT TO PLAY WITH -KIN!!!" as it is "This person thinks they ARE this character? That makes me uncomfortable. What does this thread and these interactions mean to them and should I be worried about it?"

For a generic example, say Someone is kin with Character A and also plays them in game. SuchandSo is plays Character B and Character B doesn't like A because of reasons. A's player gets upset and takes what B is saying as a personal attack because as far as they're concerned, they ARE A and starts treating B's Player rudely and causing trouble for them.

This is the kind of situation that a lot of people want to avoid because they've seen it before and playing with someone who literally thinks they are that character puts an awful lot of pressure and discomfort on someone who just wants to play pretendy funtimes. It's why IC/OOC divide has become standard in DWRP and rather than case by case, IMO, it's going to have to be something you'll need a hardline policy for if you actually want people to join this game. Otherwise, it might be better to make this a private or invite-only game.

Hello, sorry for not responding to your concerns until now. We have a policy in place about what to do if someone starts to have IC/OOC bleeding or beings feeling harmed by IC actions against their character. This information will be added at a later date, but for now I will tell you that this will be handled on a personal case to case basis by me with the consent of the mods and other members of the rp. While you have had troubles with this before, which I can respect, my own experiences and the experiences of the other mods have not been the same. It is a failure on our part not to be specific in our policy on this front, and we will not commit this error in the future.

I hope this has addressed your concerns.
