No, but mods are trying out a slower pace at unanimous player request and getting said pacing right seems to be a bit of a challenge so things are fluctuating.

I still hate my monster to the point of where if I wasn't RPing with so many awesome people I'd just drop. I'm hanging in there in case I pick up enthusiasm as time goes on, because I really do like my CR and I want to keep playing with them.

out of curiosity, why do you hate it so much, without going too much into specifics (since i figure you don't want to out yourself)? is there not enough body horror/too much/not the kind you wanted to work with? while i was lucky enough to get one of my top choices i can't imagine wanting to drop even if i'd ended up with the least appealing to me (discounting my opt-outs, obviously).

It's the right amount of body horror and monstery things, nice and inhuman and terrifying. I can't get specific with the problem without being obvious. But I guess you could think of it as being an arachnophobe and forgetting to put arachne on your opt outs and then getting it by chance. No amount of cool design or body horror/psych horror is going to erase the arachnophobia.

That sucks, anon, I'm sorry. If it is an issue of squick maybe talk to the mods about what can be done? Even if it's something like being able to purchase different traits with tiklabang coins, using canon features instead of monster features or finding an alternate solution, I'm sure they'll understand.

on one hand: love the plot, great opportunities for strengthening cr, getting into some gore, looking forward to the vote on the fate of rota
on the other: the "curses" are just reminding me how boring my monster is. my planned changes are more interesting than getting my character injured.

i just want to know why it wasn't mentioned that rota had wizard-priests before now.

not participating in this plot because of time constraints, but there also better be a damn good reason those other guys can kill monsters permanently.

wasn't it sort of implied by all those night god priests doing that big spell, though? like, the one that changed people back to humans temporarily?

It seems like following either of the gods faithfully = magic.

but yeah, it WAS sort of weirdly understated as a thing.
