i wish more people would tag starters that only had 0-2 replies instead of giving another tag to one that already has 5+

i'm actually doing that and it's fun! though tbh i'm pretty sure one of my characters would have zero responses if i hadn't pinged some people to it. sadly, some people are shy about tagging people they don't know. some of the newbies haven't even put up starters because they're intimidated by the number of open comments already up. the best way to get replies is to tap into those newbies with no top-levels and offer them your starter. go on the plurk friending meme and say "hey i like your character but i noticed they don't have a starter. do you wanna tag me?" it's that simple.

geez, i'm sorry, but rpers get anxious over the most ridiculous things sometimes. it's the intro log for the entire game that has had a huge app round so far, of course there are a lot of top level comments. no one's going to get angry at a player for making another one because that's literally what it's there for.

the worst that'll happen is it doesn't get tagged, but they'll cut themselves out of potential cr entirely if they just choose not to post for a silly reason like "many other newbies have already posted". there are a few people i've been hoping to tag that haven't posted starters and i hope they haven't decided to sit the entire two-week event out because they're not on the first couple pages.

i hope the same too. :( that's why i reach out. help them see that people will tag them if they do a top level. i admit i was also kind of chicken about doing a top-level for my character at first but i sucked it up when people on plurk asked where they could hit me up. i figure i'll pay it forward and help encourage the players who have cold feet.

i'm actually not planning on tagging anyone else in the log, even though my response hasn't been huge. it's nothing against any other newbie, i just don't want to overwhelm myself on the very first intro log.

I haven't put up a starter, but it's because I haven't been able to think of a good one, not because of intimidation. I've been trying to tag out as much as I can though!

I'm just trying to tag anything that would ping my character regardless of the number of replies it has- so I've started threads with some people who already have a bunch of replies and some people who didn't have any. I'm enjoying myself a lot so far that way even though my own top-level only has a few replies.

We get it. You like Yu and Joffrey. They've got enough.

even as someone who only has 1/2 replies, this is so stupid

i'd rather people tag into my thread because they want to, not because they feel some obligation to throw me pity tags because the people they want to tag have "too many"

They also put in some really good hooks in their posts. I'm trying to tag out as much as I can but sometimes there's nothing that grabs me.
