Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

THE TARTARUS EXPERIMENT

Relatively under the radar game I've been eyeballing awhile now, but a few posts ago it got some pretty negative anons. Is it still considered cliquey/unwelcoming?

Yep. It's essentially a mod muse box, and they're still cliquey as fuck.

In my experience, it's a mod muse box because nobody else tags around. I've only been receiving consistent play from characters played by the mods.

I've had fun and not experienced any cliqueyness. My character from a popular canon gets more attention than a really obscure one, but that's true in pretty much any game. The events can be a bit hit or miss, but there's generally enough to do for fun even if you aren't really into whatever the horror flavor of the week is. Though it can be a bit surreal to have to keep busy with almost slice of life level stuff when you're basically in hell surrounded by monsters. Overall I'd say it's a good little game, if far from perfect.

+1

It's one of those games that if you mesh well with it, it can be really fun. I play pretty obscure muses, but I've never had a post go unanswered, and there is always something to do, though sometimes it can take a little more initiative than others depending on the event. It's not everyone's game, but the pacing and event/downtime works well for some.

So I'd say just give it a try and see how you like it.
