i think it's problematic, but at the same time, a good game is a good game and no amount of SJWing is going to keep me from enjoying it

I didn't really care before the pr started being dumb as fuck, yeah. especially since the games themselves usually treat female characters really well despite some of the stupid comments people at ubisoft have made in the past

I'm still really excited for the game though. I love the french revolution.

a lot of my friends who don't even play the series are saying shit about how you're a traitor to women everywhere if you don't boycott the franchise though and it's really getting on my nerves. I hope they stop caring by the time it comes out

it's not four white dudes tho. it's arno. the other three white dudes are co-op characters, which will only be relevant if you play co-op. every person playing co-op will see their own character as arno. you will see the other co-op characters as colorswap arno.

since i'm assuming co-op will only be relevant during missions (not during actual plot/cut scenes) then the three colorswap arnos likely won't even have any personality or dialogue outside taunts etc. it is basically gonna be the same thing as brohood/rev/AC3's summonable recruits except it'll be other players instead of AI.

not saying ubisoft's dumbshit response wasn't, well, dumbshit, but idek i don't think a lot of people realize what is even going on. (i don't do multiplayer in AC games so the entire thing is completely irrelevant to me anyway apart from ubi's shitty explanation.)

nah, they'll be customize able assassins. not agreeing or disagreeing with your point, just mentioning that.

do you have a source on that? it seems pretty dumb to customize something that you yourself won't even be seeing in game...

oh wait unless you're saying that the player will get to control how the co-ops in their own game look, which makes more sense

yeah that! it's mentioned in various articles so I can't find a specific source, but if you look into any of the articles about Ubi's response to no female assassins you'll find it there with their excuse.

The customization just refers to how you can customize the development of your own Arno. But since every co-op player sees themselves as Arno, technically your teammates will also be customized. But they're still colorswapped Arno.

well damnit, there goes my dreams of having a pretty princess assassin companion.

wow ok now it makes even more sense why they didn't include the option for female co-ops. i sure wish they'd have explained it properly instead of trying to bullshit us tho, goddamn.

imo they still should have had female assassin appearances for co-op, because women have always been recruitable, but yeah they made it sound much worse than it is.
