It's because the average person lacks the creative ability to actually come up with another word to replace a swear word and the vast majority of websites do disallow them. Of all the places I visit on the net, there's only two sites where I can say the word fuck without it being censored and one of them is DW.

Seriously. Getting people fired for sexual harassment tends to be a challenge even in so called zero tolerance environments. I went through a whole ordeal when I was in retail. Employees (even ones I didn't really know) were interviewed over it, surveillance pulled, etc etc etc.

ITT how do you feel about the other people who play your characters

I mostly play obscure characters so whenever I actually see someone else playing them I get butterflies in my stomach and have to read their threads. Even if I think they're totally off or ooc, analyzing it reminds me of all the things I liked about the character in the first place. So that's pretty cool. I'm probably not in danger of having any characters ruined for me by rp.

Sometimes it makes me feel a little competitive or insecure but I try to just ignore that because it's stupid.

Are there any games around where criminal characters can do crime and have decent incentive for it? I don't mean hardcore villain or serial killer stuff, but things like drug dealing, organized crime, bank robbery, etc.

I don't know about drug dealing (if only because I don't think anyone's ever tried it there), but if you don't mind journal based games, route_29's really criminal friendly, especially if you're not into rampant murder sprees (characters can't die).

Anons, how long do you give a new game to gel before you drop?

I don’t want to flake, but my character is a tough fit for the premise I apped into and after a month I’m already starting to burn out. Castmates are mostly MIA but I’m getting good cross-canon CR so that’s not really the issue. Because of aspects of the premise I’m not able to play to my character’s strengths in threads and it’s kind of dawning on me how exhausting that will be for the long haul.

Idk this is pretty weird for me, in the past I’ve definitely been the type to power through a tough start in a new game and end up staying for years so I’m not sure what to make of this apathetic feeling.

Two months. Gives me time to work through AC and mod influence (plot, events, whatever) attempt to make some good CR, and figure out my castmates. (If they're flaky I'll deal, but if they're ragingly out of character I'm getting the fuck out.)

I'd say give it another month and see, but if you're not feeling it no one's gonna judge you for dropping. Some characters just don't fit.
