I don't. It makes me rage. I beg for crit and all I ever get is asspats. I'd love to get good, honest crit on my characters and it pisses me off to see someone reacting badly to a well thought out, helpful suggestion.

Yep, this. It's less that I hate seeing people lose their mind over well-thought-out crit and more that I'm thinking "You little brat, that shows that someone cares."

Not that I don't enjoy the asspats, but I would be so grateful for crit.

Oh my God, exactly! I wish someone would give enough of a damn to tell me what I'm doing wrong. Or even if I could just stand to be a little better at something. Anything. This radio silence is making me insane.

It's always "You are the perfect so-and-so" and "There is no one better than you" and yeah, I appreciate it! But I also know that there are some things I need to tweak and even if they're just minor deets I want to know how to play better.

What's really funny is when it's not even crit, like someone just wants clarification or has a question, and it gets BLOWN THE FUCK OUT OF PROPORTION because oh noes I was attacked.

I've seen the opposite more often. The person giving the crit explodes into butthurt when someone asks them to explain their crit.

Yeah, thing is, the ones who really, really need it are the ones who don't post to HMDs or have one on their journal.

Why do you care if they don't? The fact that they have no HMD and don't post to HMDs says they don't want crit or if they are given crit they will ignore it. At least they don't act like they are open to it and then ignore it or rage at the people who take the time to give it.

Wow, I have to wonder if this was the thought process behind my first character being critted every anoncomm for almost a year :/ Given how my then over!emotional self reacted, I'd say so.
