Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Temporary Change: To reduce the strain on Dreamwidth's servers new entries will go up when a post reaches 3,000. Please refrain from spamming so we can stretch these entries for a little longer. We don't need several threads soliciting photo evidence of body parts, and we already know that we only care about yaoi. Failure to comply will only result in deletions and butthurt. "People may notice site slowdown/cache error pages. We're working on fixing. You can help: finish posts at 3k comments, not 5k or more." - Dreamwidth@Twitter

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.

Siren's Pull has a PA dick mod who got wanked on like mad at roleplay secrets

Paradisa was cliquey as fuck for a long time, I'm not sure if it still is

I really like Paradisa. It's never seemed cliquey to me, building CR has been easy, and the muns are super sweet. It's also a lot more lighthearted than SP, as far as I can tell.

But I've never played at SP. It seems ridiculously HUGE to me, and Paradisa moves a lot more slowly.

SP isn't huge, actually! It can be fast-paced (especially with app perios) but I find it's pretty manageable. Lately there's only been a few posts per day.

Siren's Pull, though I'm biased because I'm in it.

The problem with SP though is that one passhole agresshole mod, and some of the people are really cliquey. They're not mean or exclusive, but they get really wrapped up in each other and don't really tag out unless someone tags them first.

I honestly wouldn't app at either. I hear Paradisa is very hard to get CR at and people pretty much stop tagging threads within hours of a post so pretty much it's hopeless to get decent length threads if you're slow.

SP I don't know as much about, but there do seem to have been some issues with mods.

Honestly if you want big games, the ones that seem better to consider are Route, Luceti, and Soul Campaign.

route and luceti's premises don't really grab me, unfortunately :( i'll look at SC though

I disagree with your assessment of Paradisa. I am one of the slowest taggers in existence (I'm working on plenty of threads from early February) and I never have a problem with finishing threads. From my experience, people in Para are very happy to backtag.

I've played at both (for context, Paradisa has been my home game for a long time, and I apped at SP because I was interested in its dark premise and one of its casts), and I wasn't able to make SP stick.

I love Paradisa a lot, so I'll talk about that game first. There is a nice blend of established older players and new up and coming players who keep the game lively and fun. The game has a lot of freedom, so you're able to do pretty much anything you want, and it leaves a lot of room for character growth and interesting cr. The downside is, people who have stayed here for a long time are complaining that the game is getting stagnant, and some people are getting bored with the lack of structure.

SP, on the other hand, I was never able to become completely immersed with it. However, I think this is a personal problem. SP seems like a game where you have to devote a lot of attention to it, and it just doesn't work well as a sort of 'on the side game' in my opinion. I like the dark premise and the interesting characters, but in contrast to Paradisa's freedom it doesn't seem like there's a lot of freedom in SP. I guess that's what comes with being in a more plot-focused game?

So my recommendation, figure out if you want a more structured plot, or a place where you have the freedom to do your own thing. Both games are filled with terrifically nice people and fun characters to play with, so you can't really go wrong in this decision :) Good luck!

I'm in both, and love both equally. Paradisa would be better if you want in quickly, as it doesn't have the app cycle Sirens Port does.

Both are welcoming, have great players, and are loads of fun.

I hope to see you soon, anon :')
