A guy who drops out of college to ride the Youtube Superstar gravy train already gets my ire for being a fucking idiot (It's gonna dry up, especially if game companies start cracking down on Day One LPs).

Then throw on making rape jokes about eight year old girls (fictional or not), and I wish something horrid happens that he can no longer speak.

The worst part is, you hear him NOT being the PDP character in videos with Minx and Markiplier and his voice is actually really nice, and he seems like a cool guy. The problem I have is his character.

I guess this isn't exactly it, since I actually like the Nostalgia Critic when he's actually making points, but when he goes into full wacky comedy interlude or SCREECHING OUTRAGE mode, I find it kinda grating.

NC videos are best when they're of stuff that's honestly hard to mess up mocking (Captain Planet, Tankgirl, that one anti-drug PSA with the Muppet Babies). Otherwise when the material's short you get long stretches of extremely boring or unfunny stuff (which I feel is one of the problems of Zero Punctuation, but there it's every video.)

two best friends play is pretty good imo

granted, i haven't watched a ton of their stuff, just their silent hill videos, the last of us playthrough, and a few of their horror game reviews, but they're pretty funny, easy listening, and (especially in the longer series reviews) you get some pretty insightful comments about what the game is doing right/wrong

i like moviebob for his the big picture stuff

it's not really comedy, more informative-theory-chatter stuff, and it's nice to binge on every now and then, because it's generally things i find interesting in their own right

i really can't stand the nostalgia chick, though, possibly because i made the mistake of watching her review a thing i was super-into first... and she proceeded to completely ignore, like, 25 years of media in the franchise while mocking that it was "revived" recently

i admit, i like zero punctuation. i disagree with yahtzee on a lot of things but he owns his opinions and puts them in a creative way.
