rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. I would LOVE more games with test drive posts, or game-specific dressing rooms, where you could try out your character in the setting before apping. It'd also let the players know if they'd be a good fit and like the playstyle, and it's so much easier to tell how good someone is at RPing when you're not asking for, like... 500 words of fanfic, or rp threads that might be from several years ago, or whatever.

And you are probably a part of the problem with this game, just for that. What's wrong with the player/character? If you don't want to tag Akito then fine but at least they're a reliable tagger. Go back to your clique nonny.

i've yet to see a furry oc in rp that isn't terrible in a really cringe-inducing way. the ones that aren't overtly sexualized are usually cutesy childlike cubs that radiate pedo vibes, or they're totally awesome!!! sparklewoofs that look like they came out of a middle schooler's doodle notebook.

different people have different levels of tolerance and ability to sit down and write shit out, and it varies on what kind of shit they need to be writing.

and not all apps are the same, or require the same amount of effort from everyone-- i can crank out history just fine, and prefer to write out my histories myself over linking a wiki because i find it invigorating and a good excuse to catch up on canon and clarify anything that's gotten foggy in my memory, but if they want a writing sample, i almost always end up struggling, because i find fanfic harder than rp, but usually don't have rp samples that i'm comfortable sharing.

- desperate sex meme

If something's associated with a really terrible fanbase, then it gets hate.

All of this is really new to me and quite interesting (and a bit strange) to know. Do people here in general consider all anthropomorphic characters as furries?

What about werewolves or other human looking characters that only sometimes turn into animals? I've seen some muses that have both human and animal userpics. Or are you only talking about those who mostly look like humans but have a tail or animal ears?

It's just like any character in DWRP: if you play well and don't do a bunch of cringey shit like smut-pushing, yapping on plurk about furrsonas and yiff (people seem to be able to get away with sharing furry porn fine so long as they warn for that shit and don't bring it up in unrelated plurks, which is fair imo), or just generally being a creep then you're likely to be well receipted.

I've seen one or two furry/anthro characters (some of them OCs) who have been played in games and seemingly gotten only positive responses, because they're legitimately interesting characters and the players know how to respect boundaries.

Spider-Man Blue by Jeph Loeb is one of my favorite Spider-Man things ever, so that.

eh, i'd say that werewolves and shapeshifters are different since they have a human form, and since they tend to be depicted in a "realistic" way. and a character who is basically a standard human with cat ears and a tail still counts as human.

furries are generally human-shaped with cartoon animal facial features, and even though they have completely fur-covered bodies they often wear human clothes and hairstyles. there are borderline-furry characters (like the thundercats) who have fur-covered bodies but normal human facial features... some people consider them furry, some don't. the cartoonish animal facial features seem to be the defining trait, though.

i have two games i want to join with one character, a third game that everybody wants me to take that character to even though i don't want to go there, and a fourth game that isn't open yet that i want to go to with another different character

I've always been curious, do anthros without fur class as "furries"? Like, uh...characters that are reptiles and the like. I play a lizard person at an RP off of DW and for some reason my muse never seems to get lumped in with the furry crowd

Actually, there's a method, at least in Firefox, you can use to get the original size of the screenshot!

1. In the thread, right click and select page info. You should a see a list of links in the media tab. One of them should show an image of the screenshot that OP posted and, if there are any, the screenshots that others replied with.

2. Copy the link of the screenshot you want and paste it in a new tab. You should see the screenshot in its original size.

3. Right-click and save.

I'm not too familar with Chrome, but as far as I can tell, right-click and choose page source. Then, find "og:image" which should contain the cloudfront link. Copy and then paste it into a new tab so you can save it. For replies, Ctrl + F

and you find the screenshot's Cloudfront link so can paste into a new tab to save it. Alternatively, you can also search ".cloudfront.net" which should net you the same results.

thanks, guys! with regards to the innocence/impetuousness, I absolutely agree -- I was thinking of tying in the whole mood-balancing mechanic, with her consciously having to check herself and set aside her personal feelings for the matters at hand. not that it always WORKS, and neither does she always catch herself in time, but still.
