Anyone else look at that Giovanni app and just kinda side-eying it? I don't know the canon, but a character who is being described as a villain and the player claims they have no physical and mental weaknesses doesn't instill confidence in the player at all.

I haven't looked at all the apps, but is this Giovanni from DOGS? The mods will probably say something about it.

Nah, from Pokemon. Not familiar with DOGS either, but we had that character before and I could easily compare to the old app.

Yeah, I see that now. I forget Luceti has a good sized Pokemon cast, otherwise I wouldn't think of him as the most likely Giovanni to be apped into a game.

(Also, the DOGS one came to mind first because that character is actually basically immortal in canon, so the lack of physical weaknesses makes more sense.)

If I felt like digging it up, bet I could find the app and that it would have some physical weaknesses. Hell, we've had gods and even they have physical and mental weaknesses. There's no character that is perfect.

The thing is, they're right about one thing. Giovanni doesn't show any weaknesses in the anime, from what I can remember. He's shown to be a tall, stocky, exceptionally clever man.

That said, I was hoping to see some more insight on his Pokémon and their weaknesses. And the applicant could've easily bullshitted some weaknesses together. Giovanni may be an evil mastermind, but is there really anything he can do without his Team Rocket minions and resources?

Exactly, I've apped characters who don't show weaknesses, but you can BS stuff. I may know squat about Pokemon, but I do know that the characters are humans or Pokemon. Humans are far from perfect and have weaknesses that can be commented upon. We know Luceti is full of stuff that isn't human so it is worth noting.

So like you said, they can consider weaknesses of the Pokemon. Or how he will deal without his Pokemon since he likely won't have them right off. Or how he will deal without minions. Or how he would deal with some of Luceti's powerhouses if they get into a fight. Even if he's a strong guy, how would he handle a fight with a character like Goku or Vegeta?

Or how would he handle dealing with people who have never heard of a pokemon? There's definitely plenty of people in any panfandom game who won't, so that's good to consider.

It just bothers me to see someone say their character has no weaknesses at all, and especially with a villain. Even some of Luceti's biggest powerhouses still have weaknesses.

He sees no trouble with sleeping around, as long as he's in charge and in power. Sex is power, after all.

I admittedly had some trouble describing him in detail, and I understand your concerns. I was racing against the clock, and could admittedly have done better, so if he's not accepted this round, it's no big deal. I'm dealing with some things irl so my mind wasn't exactly on my work. So yeah, I see what you guys mean.

For those who are worried about him from my past handling of the game version, I am going to be working on keeping a tight leash on him. He is admittedly hard to play, but this one at least has more to deal with canonwise than the other.

For now I decided to pull the app for the weakness and the other things noted here. I'll try again later when I can better focus on the app and not have RL to deal with. Thank you!
