It's really nigh impossible to determine connotation from text doubtlessly, so I'm unsure if this is sarcastic or not. (The only reason I'm thinking it is, is because Catherine's not a fad. At all. And it's blatantly not a fad [in Smash].) So if it is sarcasm? Disregard everything below.

If that's all a genuine set of questions, then feel free to read on.

I actually wouldn't call Drakengard a fad. That's a flattering thing to say, but it's not accurate. (You may be a little too kind here.) Most people have never even heard of the game.

As far as I know [and can tell, and have heard], any interest taken in Drakengard (in Smash) that was not there before was either due to my portrayal of Caim, or by how much I talk about it outside of RP.

Considering how obscure the series is and how we have very few players on both DW and LJ, I highly doubt that anyone's going to be rushing in to apply for someone. I assume [in good faith] anyone who does is sincerely interested in the character or the game. Not for any 'fad' purpose.

IDK about you but my interest in Drakengard stems totally from giant babies.

... No seriously, someone showed me a clip of giant babies and I was sold on the idea.

I didn't even know about the babies originally. xD

I got into it because my mother picked up DoD2. I was so confused going through it and I had no idea what was going on, so I later got the first game.

And I fell in love. With. Everything.

THUS MY HISTORY BECAME MY PRESENT.

I saw babies, then turned to my husband and asked him if he knew about Drakengard.

And then he went, "THAT DAMN GAME!!!!!!!1!!!!1"

So then I tried it. And when Nier came out and I saw it was by Cavia, I guess I was pleased. My husband said I was wearing my creepy grin again so. (B

I remember when I heard about NieR. A good friend of mine at the time had found information on it, knew I was a major DoD fan and he was like, "This might interest you. It's a sequel."

AND I WAS EXCITED.
And not at all disappointed. :>

Oh. And the incest undertones. Aww right.

RP is kinda made of cycles of fads, I've found. They'll be an explosion of interest for a while and then it will die back. Such is the circle of RP life.

That being said, I wouldn't really mind if Drakengard did become a fad. So what if the whole casts apps and then drops in a few months? I'll still be here, playing this grumpy dragon and doing my thing. People can do their things. We can all do our things, RP as we please and life can continue onward.

Pikmin was a fad cast years ago. And now we are left with 2 characters.

I don't know what this Dragon Guard is.
