does anyone have everybirdie's birthdays written down somewhere? i know shuu's and ryouta's are in december and i remember seeing a picture of the ID cards they made that showed okosan's was in july but if there's just a nice list somewhere that'd be great to have.

i think this fan-made chart lists all known canon birthdays!

and i think ryuuji has 2/17 as his canon birthday, but this is something i've seen around on japanese fansites/in fanart, and my japanese reading skills are crude at best.

Wow, yeah, so he was working with Ryuuji for a good 10+ years probably. From before he was 10. @_@ Because Isa was there to congratulate him on having a kid...

So... I guess this makes Isa a child prodigy? Because looking at the other character ages, they're about on par with normal teen years...

He would have to be, which I suppose does make sense with all the lauding about his super drug skills. Poor Isa, the guy never had a childhood.

Yeah, I'd personally pegged him as being mid-thirties, at least. (Or the... bird equivalent thereof.) Since it's a fan compilation, I could see the year being off, though.

Does it say anywhere the year the game takes place? That thing said 2188, but I don't know if that's confirmed, or just going by "the juniors would be 17 at that time" which is human high school age.

True, if it took place at an earlier year it could point to shorter life spans (which makes sense, considering the game mentioned those) and being 10-years-old could be relatively older.

Right, and if Ryouta is at least 9 years old (considering the game says Isa came to them 8 years ago) then 10 could be an end of high school age. But I'm not sure. A question for Moa I suppose!

This make sense, since I did have a discussions where the birds still have a shorter lifespans compared to humans. Even with the evolution boost.

It does make sense, I like the idea that they mature faster because of shorter lifespans. However going back through the game turns out yep, Hiyoko was enrolled in '87, meaning the game takes place in '88, and so the birds go to school at the same ages humans do.

Child prodigy Shuu looks to be about right.

yes, i assume this is the case, judging by what i've seen on pixiv. so isashuu's not all bark and no bite when it comes to going on about how smart he is god he is such a cocky little shit.

Aha, it makes a lot of sense, really. Not only does it set him up so that Hiyoko will never be smart enough for him, even at the top of the class, it also makes Ryuuji that much easier to put on a pedestal because he would have a fuckton of experience to back up his intellect in comparison to bitty!Isa.

it makes a lot of sense indeed, especially when you put it like that! all this really makes ryuuji so much easier to put on one hell of a pedestal (this is one thing i've been trying to figure out more clearly).

I also kind of theorize that Isa/Shuu is more likely to yield to people who are relentlessly nice to him, since that is something that Ryuuji and Hiyoko (on Shuu Route) have in common. Though I should probably play the game more to support that.

Isn't it just? It makes you wonder just how much Ryuuji picked up on (whether he was oblivious and unintentionally feeding the crush, or realized full well that's how Isa felt and kept him at arm's length but did a terrible job of it, or... even something more reciprocal, which is a little creepy given the age difference, BUT THIS CANON IS ALL ABOUT THE CREEPY). So many options to contemplate.

i see exactly what you mean there, anon, and i agree completely. isashuu really is a lot more likely to actually become attached to people who are very nice to him. personally i think he's perfectly capable of friendship, and that the problem with him in hatoful (both shuu route and hurtful route) is that he's so insanely focused on other things that isn't willing to or interested in forming any genuine bonds (i mean, even with hiyoko there's no emotional connection).

in fact, he's been... kind of making some friends over at the game i play him in. things are a little complicated now after his canon update, but this is a really interesting development to plan out and write. though i realize this might be a controversial view, haha.

it is, it is. i find myself wondering about their relationship quite a lot. not even going to lie, i'm very intrigued by ryuuji in general since he pretty much is the one and only person isashuu looks up to... and very likely has a crush on (is that considered canon?).
