Actually, more like check a post made by a live action character or one with a live action PB and she's there. She ignores the vast majority of anime, manga, and video game characters, except maybe important ones like Albert and Raine.

FINALLY! I was waiting for someone to point out that she has a serious media bias. She even bad mouths people who play anime characters that tag her, proceeding to them drop the thread or ignore them. She never tags any anime/game posts that go up either, even if it would be relevant to her character.

Yeah, I wasn't getting it when someone said she tags every post because I rarely see her tag a character from an anime or video game.

Makes me wonder what she's going to do with her new character considering that the vast majority of characters in that age group are from anime and video games.

My own prediction: The Hunger Games cast is either going to become a clique and tag very little outside their group or will be gone in less than two months.

I went through the Town Meeting log she put up. During the actual meeting itself she acted ICly as if she knew everything with her tags to the other players: http://lucetilogs.dreamwidth.org/300866.html?thread=63322946#cmt63322946 It even felt in some of her comments that she was bordering on meta with her IC knowledge =/= OOC knowledge as a mod. She really did throw herself around and it definitely, as another anon put it, grinded me. Her character seemed to have an opinion and knowledge regarding everything in Luceti.

But to be a devil's advocate, during her IC modding she did tag anime characters, if not only to prove she was all intelligent and right.

idk if helios' mun okayed it, but it seemed to me like she knew more than she possibly could in that thread. i think there was another thread like that somewhere but i can't remember where it was atm.

for the tagging thing, she does tag anime and game characters (grune and pao-lin for example) like you said so i didn't mention it, but she drops threads with characters from those mediums really often. like i said, it's like she tags just for the sake of tagging and doesn't actually care to really put any sort of efforts into her threads if they don't interest her, and she seems to have some medium bias in that regard as said by the others.

Actually, I don't mind so much having an IC knowledge of things in Luceti because it is ICly possible to go back and read/listen to posts made before your character arrived (except the older Lucetilocked posts). As long as something is stated on the journals and not filtered (or your character can hack the filter), it's able to be known IC. There's definitely a ton of information if your character wants to go looking for it, though just as much useless information as well.

Of course, this does require quite a bit of a time commitment since it is over 4 years of stuff. A character like Ginia who is everywhere, volunteers at more than one place and is often on missions is not as likely to have that sort of time as a character who isn't as sociable and enjoys gathering information in that way.

No you can't. Only if it was entries YOUR character made before you apped. It only applies to those who've been in Luceti before. You can't read an older entry by someone else unless someone links you to it directly in a conversation.

...yes you can. last i heard, the only entries you can't read that were made before your character showed up are the lucetilocked posts because they use a different network than the normal ones. everything else is fair game. otherwise, how would people find the guide on their own? it'd have to be reposted literally daily otherwise.

and it wouldn't make sense to be unable to access older entries unless someone else links them. they'd either have to be completely inaccessible to people who arrived after the post or accessible to anyone at any time unless they're locked.

fyi, the nitpicker's guide even says the journals display entries made before a character's arrival:

Still, as someone pointed out, as Ginia is so actively involved in the rest of the community it doesn't seem like she would have time to backtrack so far through the journals and know some of the stuff she does.

This is correct. My point was that it's possible and she could justify it. But it's unlikely because of just how much the character does. If she's doing that, I'd start wondering when her character sleeps.

And it isn't like she has special powers or natural abilities that help with that. But Ginia is a normal human from a normal Earth so this doesn't apply.

Wow. That is an invitation for people to meta to their hearts content. Who thought that was a good idea?!

...dude, that's not metagaming. that's having characters find information freely accessible to anyone as long as they go back through the journals. metagaming would be using information only available OOCly.

without past entries being available people wouldn't be able to access the guide without past entries being available until it was reposted which happens maybe three times a year tops. it'd be a lot harder for characters to get involved in the main plot since it'd limit them to just the info they get from new posts, when there's a lot you can only get from older posts. heck, if they're dropped off away from the village when they intro, they'd have squat to guide them until someone posts something new or they do an accidental entry because their journals would be completely empty!

i'm not seeing how this in any way counts as a bad idea. it makes it easier to get settled in and get involved in the game, and it's not metagaming if anyone can read the old entries.

ok then. I'll have my character go through all the old entries and dig up as much information on your character as possible, I'll hack filters and get all your dirt, then throw it at you in one thread even though you've never met my character.

if it's ic for your character, sure, you could do that! except there usually isn't much dirt to gather on most characters, and i can't think of any character who'd do that. even someone like batman wouldn't just fling all of his info at someone like that, even if it'd be ic for him to go through the journals for info.

seriously, you're worrying too much. nobody's ever done that and i doubt anyone will because most characters can't do that without being ooc. and this is the sort of thing you'd get called out for for sure if it's not appropriate for your character.
