So how about that new game

Kind of disappointed with the setting, tbh. Not like OMG RUINED FOREVER territory since it does fit with where the games were going and it should be good whatever, I just find it distinctly underwhelming.

Seconding the completely and utterly underwhelmed by the new setting. I'm still holding out a tiny glimmer of hope, but overall I have very mixed feelings that lean far in towards the 'dislike' end of the spectrum.

Climbing trees? Really ubisoft?

Next you'll give us Assassin's Creed: Cave Man era.

I mean, I would've hated for it to be Chinese/Japanese themed like a lot of people wanted but there were some great possibilities out there like Revolutionary France or Victorian England OR Tsarist Russia. I feel like half of AssCreed is exploring settings we don't see much and to go back to America feels... idk, like a cop-out, I guess. I can't get psyched about climbing trees when I could have been climbing Orthodox Russian churches like St. Basil's Catherdral or Notre Dame.

A lot of people have been suggesting he might be Native American though and I could totally get behind that if they can do it justice.

It's been confirmed that he has a native mother and a colonist father and it sounds like he was raised by his mother. So. Yeah. I think they're treading a very thin line right now but I'm not going to count it out yet.

But I have to agree, it's not like it wasn't obvious that this was where the game was headed. China/Japan would have been just as tiresome imo and doesn't The Fall deal with Tsarist Russia and the subsequent revolution?

I want to be positive about that aspect and trust them with it. The major problem with moving forward in time for AC has ALWAYS been the guns for me- I feel like the shooting mechanics are going to need a lot of work if they're going to feature more prominently, which presumably they will.

I'm pretty curious as to how they're going to handle Desmond's sections now.

Ahh, I had no idea about The Fall /should probably go check that out
