i'm getting extremely annoyed by the amount of network posts dropping game mechanic details instantly after gamma started.

guys. seriously. i know you're excited. but this is going to be our setting for an entire year. where's the fun in immediately reaching every single available game mechanic before even a week has passed? go punch some spiders! go loot the available shops! go tag out instead of flooding the network comm!

and yeah i know, blah blah fun police. but it's getting ridiculous and i cannot be the only one who's irritated.

You're not. General flooding of the network aside, people have figured out since IC Day 2 and announced almost all the game mechanics, the creepy locations, and where to move in and start setting up projects. And just glancing through the main community, there's references to the phase names, Lovecraftian horror, and the Project Head, none of which even make sense unless you're infomodding.

Since everyone got here on the night of Day 1, that was all almost entirely done in one day or less of IC exploration. I get the feeling it's people needing to be first at doing something, and it's a little disheartening to see our new setting losing all its IC mystery already.

don't understand why people don't think they'll be back on the ship next week, and it'd serve them right if the first docking event was the Charon tbh. exploring every facet of the environment in five seconds, moving out of dorms with new bffs and setting up a pristine medbay in a week is stupid as hell, but people will always resent others getting to the easy, exciting network posts first.

did we really need separate leadery posts from spock and kirk laying out and hogging all the things people need to do come and join team starfleet?

I'd like to clarify that Martin is freaking out about the library because he just came back from Skyrim's Dragonborn DLC, which takes place in Hermaeus Mora's Apocrypha—he thinks he and the Dragonborn have tainted the library, as they're carrying Black Books with them. And he's wrong.

My intention was never to ruin plot, merely showcase a side of Martin I've never gotten to play in Beta. I have no problems rolling back the post, however.

Really disappointed in it too fwiw. I don't want to see people jumping the leadership gun or the swarm for Team Starfleet. No offense but Spock and Kirk are fairly new in comparison to a lot of characters and I don't know why more people aren't suspicious of them or calling them out on their team up as being power hoarding.

....ICly of course because I know OOC that's not what they're doing.

I was excited to reapp a character I'd dropped back in beta. Then I rechecked the FAQ and saw that she couldn't keep her memories from last time because in the time between when I dropped and now someone else had apped her, played a single thread, and idled out the same AC period. Knowing I lost months of character development to some flake when other characters get to keep development from other games kills my drive and chaps my ass like you wouldn't believe.

If that is the case, have you bothered to contact the mods? If that person was around for such a short time, they could possibly make an exception for you. Be a little proactive.

i'm just cringing a little at the potential backlash oocly, because i've been in so many games where you get your face ripped off if you make the "wrong" choice.
