So much this. Gee, could this be why for the longest time it was just Eliot and Charles making "leadership" style posts? Because anyone who sticks their neck out gets their head cut off in the anon comms.

how much do you want to be elliot-mun or charles-mun are the ones wanking on anyone trying to take their spotlight.

man i wish tifa got in. buffy and elliot getting into pa fights over being the main character would have been gold.

I have no idea about that. My personal thought is that it doesn't matter who it is, the anoncomms will complain because that person got there first. It seems to be the same complaint every time, just with different names. First it was Charles, then it was Eliot, now it's Kirk and Spock. And the cycle continues.

you guys don't really get it, do you? nobody cares who it is that's making leadership posts so long as they do the following:

post when they have the time to give everyone their full attention
respond to their threads eagerly
delegate
not prioritize their own cliques for any plot the post generates
not hog every plot detail of the month to themselves, to the point of infomodding just to get in before everyone else

a good leader in a game with so many characters delegates. they need to only pick up a hero character when they can actually give them the time and energy they deserve, not say 'hi, tags will be slow' like spock mun did. i don't want to hear that you're going to be dragging your ass on this. if you want to be the hero then you do the work, it's not something that gets handed to you just because you apped someone who plays that role in their canon.

inb4 charles/elliot mun. i don't play a hero character or a character who'd respond to these kinds of posts, so i don't have a horse in this race.

No one knows how to share the sandbox in this game and there shouldn't be any leaders until people figure it out.

Not responding to people on a post like this one is just rude. Spock at least tagged all but one of the characters back once, though they haven't tagged again all weekend, but look at the amount of people Kirk left hanging. Not leadership material.

i was going to say kirk's mun probably just hasn't gotten around to tags yet but then i looked at the second page

if you're too busy to tag everything, that's fine, but don't show preferential treatment on your own post, it's tacky

but we've probably all done it once or twice or five times, and it's a pretty simple tag which is tempting to respond to especially after the mod announcement, imo? not having to really explain shit i mean. i know it was brought up and they said it was a rule going forward but you can get my meaning i think.

shit happens i suppose and we all have different tolerance for it/ways of dealing with it. i'm waiting for tags too and i prefer to sit there sadly staring at my inbox while hitting refresh every 30 seconds like the sad sack of shit i am :(

Maybe I should rephrase that. I want people going for leadership but I also would want open dialogue about it instead of people simply assuming the position. There are several people who are leader-types in the game who could contribute. I have no issues with Kirk being in charge. I have a problem with the assumed Kirk-Spock team up that is exclusive to others who may have been waiting for Gamma to come around to get a chance at more plot, more CR, etc.

Except the Kirk-Spock team up really doesn't preclude that. Just because a couple characters are used to leading and start trying to lead doesn't mean that none of the other characters will do the same. And this kind of an environment could easily lead to factions among the characters which could lead to different groups working on different projects or infighting between the different groups.
