Higher standards that are enforced. They need to crack down hard on the apps. We have so many reserves that denying the worst 10-20% of them is the best choice.

People who can't follow the rules need an automatic rejection for the app period. If they can't even follow simple instructions, what will they do in the game?

Now is the time to fix the problem before it chokes the game. Let us hope the mods do the right thing.

Maybe it's grudgewank. Or boredom. Or a sense of self-importance. I'm continually amazed how every dw game has this initiation phase of bum rush reasons (before the game even opens of course) as to why one shouldn't join said game. The mods are flakes, massive clique, shitty apps, too similar to previous games, numerous nitpicky indications stemming from the rules to a section(s) in the faq. I guess it's too hard to simply not join if one finds fault with a game. Nah, they have to “warn” others as to why they should follow suit and not app, because obviously, the mods might potentially abandon this game, so let's beat the game down and make them even less inclined to continue the thankless job of modding. I don't know what games anons have been in, but there are always less than desirable apps, imperfect mods, that group of people who circlejerk. You have to take the good with the bad and as seen with how none of the wank so far except that will change now that I've pointed it out has been on the game's premise/mechanics, I think there's a lot more good going on then the supposedly bad.

It's probably the mods doing it themselves for attention. This way, people who already were interested will get more interested because their tastes are under attack and need to be defended.

It's a scumbag marketing tactic that works, I'm not surprised to see it getting utilized more and more in roleplaying.

some of us are raising concerns because we have actually played with the mods before in other games and seen their patterns of flaking out on things. i don't see how it's terrible or unreasonable to want to warn people of a pattern that they've displayed time and time again because not everyone wants to invest time into writing up an app and all of that if there's a high chance that the game won't last for more than a couple of months.

I'm looking forward to the game. I think the mods did a good job at making a great starting world. They didn't overwhelm people with tons of locations and create a disconnect.

I love the guild premise a lot and I can't wait to see how guilds interact with one another.
