Nobody flicks me in the butt without my consent

Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

It's probably the mods doing it themselves for attention. This way, people who already were interested will get more interested because their tastes are under attack and need to be defended.

It's a scumbag marketing tactic that works, I'm not surprised to see it getting utilized more and more in roleplaying.

Not apping, but I don't believe they need to do that. I thought the game's premise was a surefire hit among DW roleplayers since it has elements a lot of people like (cool video game/RPG shit!), and people tend to steer clear of games with infested with wank and circlejerkers anyway. If the mods did cause the wank themselves, shame on them, but the game's premise was enough to catch the attention of many people I know. No underhanded tactics were necessary to get people's attention.

I don't think they did this. Say what you will about them (and concerns about potential flaking out are totally reasonable), this doesn't seem characteristic of at least the ones I know.
