rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. (Anonymous) 2013-02-12 01:23 am (UTC)(link)Be aware that a lot of L's deductions are on a level where if done in RP rather than narrative, they WOULD be called info-moding, so you will be in a difficult position. It will be a balance between playing him accurately and playing him in a way acceptable to other players; if you get the right group, you can probably find people willing to plot with you and allow some of his ridiculous intellectual ability to be played out, focusing on the burden of proof, which is what it came down to in Death Note itself. Note that a lot of characters in canon actively thought he was just plain wrong when supposing Light was Kira, so maybe work out with players to allow them to argue reasonable doubt while L is still in the know and self-assured.
If he has to be wrong at some point, you can consider blaming his lack of Whammy House support and other info networks, for most settings.
