rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. ohhh. yeah, it does mean some of the established CR is different – pre-game stuff not so much in the majority of cases just because people are encouraged to find alternate non-Sburb reasons for the same things to happen, not to approach it as like "how would things logically be different without the influence of Sburb". it's not so much a case of what people prefer/enjoy as just a necessary evil, though, since it would kind of break the plot if we had a bunch of characters coming in who already knew how the game worked.

I've been RPing from Homestuck for about two years. Previously, I played pretty much nothing but lone canon warriors or obscure characters or just character who don't tend to accrue a cast.

I am moving back into the LCWs/etc because of one thing I noticed. No matter what game I go in, unless there is a nonexistent cast, I'm going to be put in front of judges. The fandom is so huge and so full of opinions that no matter where I go, people are going to be scrutinizing my every move and, based on how well they think I play whoever, they're going to decide whether or not to pursue CR with me.

I realize this happens in every other big fandom. I realize a lot of people don't care. It isn't a big deal. It's just something I've noticed, and I've noticed how much more relaxing it is to take a break from RPing from this canon and just do whatever I want without constantly questioning whether I'm being as IC as possible or if someone might disagree with my interpretation and call me out or... what. I don't dislike RPing Homestuck anymore, I'm just sort of cautious about joining games as a Homestuck these days.

Not trying to start arguments or anything here, like I said, this is just something I've experienced. Does anyone else feel this way?

Deets? I know two of them and they're sweet and generally pretty down-to-earth afaik, but I don't know the others.

idk this anons experience, but I know April has stalked and harassed at least three of my friends and has been shady in general. having her added on plurk, you can tell she's a real bitch.

i've played with john-mun in other games and in my experience they tend to be ridiculously inactive. once they played a close canonmate and i got one thread on their intro and that was it for months before they idled. their characterization is solid when they do play though, if it means anything.

it's a group of games (also including decollage which isn't in the acronym) that share a commentspam, highly demanding ac, mingle post reliant style of playing. the games tend to share a lot of the same muns between each other.

kusanagi! so you have the basic stuff where he's pretty chill, with strong loyalties and a trollish sense of humor (flirting with seri, whistling for yata, bringing a MEGAPHONE to a siege on a high school). he's used to being the right-hand man: he backs his people up and steps in to do the exposition when they need it.

but despite how everybody runs around yelling KING and following mikoto's every whim, kusanagi seems like the one who actually gets shit done on a daily basis. a good example to look at's HOMRA's raids: in both ep 1 and 10 mikoto strolls in, explodes some shit, ascertains that what he's after isn't around, then blasts his way out again for a nap. on a daily basis, kusanagi's the one who actually organises the clan, who watches out for them and tracks what they're up to. he's probably the most level-headed and forethinking of the HOMRA bunch. not that that's saying much, but according to GoRa tweets, he doesn't actually like seri much on a personal level and vice versa. it doesn't matter, they still work together to keep their respective kings on track. HOMRA inflicts a lot of chaos on the city; even if you just assume that all the crooks are scared to jump mikoto's followers, it's hard to imagine that kusanagi isn't ameliorating at least some of the damage.

probably the hardest part'll be playing down how much he knows. we have so many scenes of munakata bitching at mikoto about abusing his weismann levels that it's hard to imagine kusanagi doesn't know mikoto's deliberately put himself on a death run. yet, despite his loyalty, he doesn't say a damn thing. you can go with any number of explanations for that; i assume that he knows it's pretty useless to try to change mikoto's mind, so he keeps a smile up for the clan and organises the search for the 7th king as best he can in hopes that it'll come soon enough for mikoto to actually retire instead of turning into a giant smoking crater.

I get what you mean anon. I was the same way too, playing mostly lone canon warriors and playing from series that would practically guarantee I would never get a castmate. I think you just need to think on what you want to do and if you care if someone doesn't agree with how you rp. From what I've seen, as long as you aren't strikingly bad at rping a character people aren't going to harshly judge.

This sounds like a Charlie and the Chocolate Factory sequel.

Is any game willing to accept a Jadesprite. Even if that game already has a Jade? If a game requires an explanation for how they're different I can easily write one up.
